Our current side could handle that situation no bother. But in these circumstances, our team will go backwards. Entry to the CL will be extremely difficult. And Molde are champs of Norway not Rosenborg. And whilst Copenhagen are on a run of successive titles, it's not 25 years since another team won the Danish league. AaB won it only a few seasons ago. No, this will hurt us unfortunately.

He means we do not exist just to be the best in Scotland and beat the huns. Going deeper than that, he and many others have the ultimate goal of increasing revenue streams elsewhere. They will pursue this relentlessly.

Anyone think there could be a possibility of us taking Portsmouth's place in the Championship if both Pompey and the huns go out of business? Just an idea I dont think it would happen or if its even possible but I like that idea :56:

Celtic fans exist to support Celtic.

Nothing else matters, whether it's the huns or Inverness we turn up in our tens of thousands and support the team. Why would this change just because the huns aren't here anymore?

Joe for a guy who's tagline is 'fearless' thats a very fearful answer... Of course we'll continue, cos we already sucked our guts in and restructured. Young players, lower wages... More assets, less restraints... We're good to go without the huns already, worse case scenario is we downsize the squad... I'm not for the panic their sycophants are peddling... Any part of celtic or the spl that cant survive without the huns is a part I want nothing to do with to be honest...

It would change in the respect that an intense rivalry would no longer exist and as a result there would be a danger of apathy setting in amongst many fans.

It would be nice to win the league by 20 odd points every season for the next umpteen years but without any real competition it would invariably become a monotonous process.

    Motherwell fans are smelling blood.

This is what will happen if they go under, your Motherwells, Aberdeens, Dundee Utds, Hibs, Hear...oh wait :bbpd::icon_mrgreen:, will spy an opportunity to step up and their fair weather fans will flock back and they might actually begin to mount a serious challenge.

Obviously all this would take a few years to come to fruition but it would happen eventually. Scottish football would survive.

    Just die rangers!

Think of all the small clubs who's fans turn up at a cup semi or final when they make it.

They would turn up every week if they were in the hunt for honours.

The huns strangled the life out of Scottish football in their pursuit of superiority. If they die then it might just give a few other clubs the kiss of life.

Many teams give us a hard game, and they will do so even more often, if the fall of Rangers opens up the hunt for at least the 2. place. The league will be exciting. I can see a hellish title race with let's say, M'Well and Aberdeen, in a few seasons.

If Rangers do disappear then the EPL might take pity on us, they have nothing to lose. I think they were just worried about the hole old firm thing and the trouble it can bring.

Well firstly, they won't go properly bust. Even if the worst case scenario (for them) happens, thousands of huns will get together and form a new club, like AFC Wimbledon and they will quickly rise through the ranks.

And secondly, if they do go out of the SPL, Celtic can sell our TV rights directly, just like Barca and Real do in Spain. It will mean a worse deal for the other clubs, and a much much better one for us, considering the sheer amount of people worldwide who want to watch us.
In the long term, other teams will be more positive and think they actually have a chance of winning the league and getting into Europe. Right now all other SPL clubs look at the two Glasgow giants and think "there's no way we can get past BOTH of them" so they live in permanent depression.
If Rangers go bust however, Hibs, Killie, Aberdeen, St Mirren and the like will (or should) look at us and say to themselves "only 1 team to beat now, it's not impossible"

The main reason the SPL is uncompetitive is obviously because of the size and dominance of us and Rangers. But also the other clubs don't try hard enough. Fair enough, they probably won't win the league with us above them, but they definitely won't if they don't even try!

who said rangers are going out the game, the SFA has left the door open
and should RANGERS get A points reduction, and I believe it is TO BE no more than 10 point, that is not a lot of points to make up, if you come back in with a new team or better players,
now that would bug the * out of me, should that happen next year
