Don't count on any coefficient points from them. If they don't get their accounts published by 31st March they wont be eligible, if they go into administration they wont be eligible either, if they do a pre pack administration could be 3 years they're out and if they go down the toilet and get liquidated it could be donkeys before any Rangers new co get back in. Their shambles has consequences for us in Europe. :38:

The main thing is that we're ready for the qualifiers and have the new players in in time.

Yea it's going to be a dark time for us in Europe for sure. We basically need to win the league and make a good run of it in the CL, just to keep us up there with the likes of Switzerland and Greece, as they've had really strong runs in it recently. The really annoying thing is I know the current Bhoys team is a good match at least for the vast majority of teams now ranked above us, yet with the system the way it is we're getting dragged downwards into the dregs of the European teams, and it's mostly thanks to the Huns we're in this mess.

Scotland coefficient still pulls those points from Huns 2008 UEFA Cup season, it's actually the main reason coefficient isn't lower.

I imagine it will be worse when that goes away and recent years of both Celtic and Rangers performances are counted. All defeats in qualifiers from all Scottish clubs will catch up and those two CL spots will be tough to keep/take again.

Next season is the big chance for playing in Champions league again considering qualifiers won't be against Arsenal and clubs like that. Pressure is big because Scottish football can rely only on Celtic, Rangers will probably be knocked out straight away.

We need to get in some experience if we are going to do anything in the CL

This route is much easier in the Champions Route. If we can't beat the Champions of similarly sized or smaller nations than ourselves then we don't deserve to be in the CL.

We have to play 2 rounds. We will be seeded in both if we get through.

If the leagues finish the way they are just now and the seeds win from the previous round we will definetly avoid the Champions of Belgium (Anderlecht), Romania (Dinamo Bucharest), Israel (Ironi Kiryat Shomona), Switzerland (Basel), Czech Republic (Sparta Prague), Austria (Rapid Vienna), Cyprus (Omonia Nicosia), Bulgaria (CSKA Sofia) & Croatia (Dinamo Zagreb).

A few of they teams would cause us problems but we won't have to face them so its not a problem.

The sides we're likely to face in the Third qualifiying Round are:
BATE Borisov, Molde, Slask Wroclaw, MSK Zilina, Helsingborg, Partizan Belgrade, Zeljeznicar, HJK Helsinki, Shamrock Rovers & Debrecen.

All poor sides and teams we should be expecting to beat and beat well if we have anything about us.

In the Play Off Round 10 teams go through with 5 being seeded and 5 not. We will definetly be seeded if we get through. Belgium and Romania are the only countries who are above us in the ''Champions Route'' qualifiying stage.

If the seeding goes to form we'll be seeded with Anderlecht, Dinamo Bucharest, Basel & Ironi Kiryat Shomona.

In the final ''Play-off round'' we'll likely face either of: Sparta Prague, Rapid Vienna, Omonia Nicosia, CSKA Sofia or Dinamo Zagreb.

All fairly average teams and if we further strengthen our side we should qualify.

Diouf's last minute goal for Rangers last year in Lisbon means we'll have 2 teams in the CL qualifiying this year. Rangers are in the ''Non-Champions'' Route though and will be against teams like Chelsea & Inter Milan though and stand no chance.

Well, actually, it's thanks to them and their run to the UEFA Cup final that we have to only play 2 qualifiers and not 3 or 4.

They got us 10,000 coefficient points when they got to the UEFA Cup Final, and next year these 10,000 will be gone. The SPL will be in deep trouble in terms of European competition spots.

Agreed. Next summer will be an important moment for the club and it's future in the global game.

    I'm not picky.
Along with the link Lion1961 gave above, here are another couple that will let you know. First one is to do with our co-efficiency and the second one is for the Champions League itself for season 12/13.

Just dawned on me, if we can, somehow, manage to get to the last 16 of the CL next year then there is not a chance we'd ever need Rangers and they can just die slowly. We would boost Scotland's co-efficient and gain ourselves a decent bit of cash too. Leaving the rest of the SLP, i.e. Dundee United, Hearts and Motherwell battling it out for 2nd and a chance of champions league football. Would make for a much more exciting league and would do wonders for the league's finance via CL money and more TV money due to higher interest.

i thought we had 1 qualifier against (no disrespect) a weaker team then were in the group phase, whereas 2nd place this season would get 2 qualifiers like us a few years back when we got hit with dinamo and arsenal

We'll still have two round of qualifiers if we win the league, just in theory a much easier route.

2 rounds of qualifyers, the first round should be a team that we will be able to beat after that we will face a hard team, but we would be guarenteed a place in the EL group stage

Is that not subject to change depending on how a Scottish team performed if they qualified? Or is it calculated several seasons in advance?

My only issue is they wont be in and settled in time for the start of the qualifiers. We should have went after them in the Jan window there. But I guess we will see.

The likes of Dinamo Zagreb & Sparta Prague are the hardest teams we can face in the final round. We should have enough to beat them if we keep all our players.
