A strange one. He definitely deserves a call-up based on recent form.

Unless, of course, he's decided to play for Northern Ireland after all. I doubt it though.

Does seem odd. The guy looks like a talent and is in fine form.

Disgrace hes not in the team but didnt expect anything less from trap. But think Mcgeady and Coleman are injured so hopefully he might get called up yet

Typical Trap.We must be the only international team in the world who dont pick our best players available. All thanks to Trap. * me off. This was a perfect chance to call up our young Premier League regulars for a chance in a friendly such as Tony Stokes,McClean,Duffy,Meyler,Clark,Wilson etc

Ciaran Clark and Marc Wilson play every week for there clubs in the EPL yet trap calls up O Dea who plays for Leeds.:31:

Then again if they did get called up no doubt they would be left on the bench so the likes of Hunt, Whelan and co get there game. I really hope Trap retires after the Euros.

Missed a big 'un here. Would be great coming off the bench. We'll be seeing him in a ROI shirt soon enough after the Euros.

Crazy if you ask me. Trap is a great manager. one of the best actually but I can see why people goes berserk about his team selections at times.

Not that I care about Ireland but Stephen Hunt has been playing regular Premiership football for years. This McClean has played about 10 games and is now a certainty for the squad over him ? Hmm...

Bringing up a past quote from myself about Mulgrew/Scotland as I can't be arsed writing it all out again.

simon coz doesn't deserve a call up and neither does doyle who has hardly kicked a ball in the last 2 months. the tournament stokesy pulled out of was * and trap was only using fringe players then he would dump them again so a can see why he pulled out of it

See tbh I had a suspicion this might happen. Trappatoni already came out and said the players that got them there are his priority. And he isn't one to lay down to the media pressing for players to be included. He does deserve a call up though, but I'm not surprised the manager has opted not to give him it yet. He will get it eventually:50:

Trappatoni wouldnt have played him anyway if he was in the squad.

Clark, Coleman, McCarthy, Gibson, McClean and Stokes wont get a game with him as manager as he favours experienced hard working type players.

    Premiership : 19 appearances (5 as sub)
    Carling Cup : 2 appearances
    FA Cup : 2 appearances

3 goals - Making him their joint 2nd top scorer with Kevin Doyle. Hardly a bench player.
