Samaras may just be the best single investment we have ever made in an individual player, considering he was about £1-3million, when you really think about it.

Consider about some of the crucial moments he has played a part in. Scoring away to Dinamo in a CL qualifier securing European participation for the club under Mowbray; His Europa league performances last season (particularly against Rennes, performances that may not have meant alot at the time, but clearly where important in helping the molding of this team into a team capable of doing what we have done in the CL this year, especially acheiving our original target of just qualifying for the group stages and getting a big financial reward for the club)
Scoring away to Spartak for our first away win the CL group stages, putting us into the lead at the Nou camp, scoring away to Benfica and also winning the penalty that has produced another massive windfall for the club.

No matter what you can bring up about the past failings he may have had at times, he has more than made up for these in my opinion. And furthermore, it was his performance at in the 2-0 win at ibrox that made that game one of the best games i've ever attended.

If you can't see what Samaras gives to the team and think he's a donkey you are not watching the team enough, don't care what you say. Guy will be a legend, i believe he loves this club more than the majority of players we have had in our recent history, he will play for us aslong as he is wanted by the club. Sometimes i think that love of the club might actually make him more of a club legend than his ability or achievements with the club.

What a statement, at benfica we play 4 4 2 and at home against spartak we play one man up front, if we had been more positive at home against benfica we would have beat them and been more cute away then there wouldn't have need to be squeeky * time, we have done great more than we could have wished for but lady luck will come down to earth until we realise we need skill and grafters instead of film stars:38:

I have had a few drinks, watching that fud, and watching him sober is even worse, but the worst of all is the fans who get conned by his performance everyweek, you have, all got short memories, gets a 2 goals against the huns and gets a new contract then scores, in europe, but forget all about what happens in Scotland and in the League he is a con man and you fall for it big time, couldn't lace any of our former strikers boot laces, but now we will get, he is not a striker ha ha:smiley-laughing002:

His record in the SPL hasnt been great except his first 2 seasons here, but hes doing the business in Europe and has got us into the last 16 of the champions league this year. Aye thats right, we just got into the last 16 of the champions league but instead of going into the Spartak thread and congratulating the team, you decide to come into the Samaras thread say hes *.

I can guarentee everybody on here that if we drop points tomorrow youll be the first one in the match thread to slate the players, you always do it and never praise the team when we win.

Some "supporters" just bemuse you they really do,a player that has led us through a very tough champions league group,a player who secured our first ever champions league away win and a player who has set a club record for consecutive european away goals is worth nothing and is a donkey blah blah blah,no one including myself should even reply because fans like that show they see what they want to see and probably don't even watch half the games. On top of which moaning that we're lucky to get through !!!!! they'd be better off watching a game more suited to their mentality such as tiddlywinks.

My mind is boggling at this criticism of some of our players after Wednesday: Sammy has been amazing in Europe from the beginning, Brown has proved many of us wrong in this campaign (me too :52:) and shown that he is a great player at CL level and, * me, did I just see Commons do what I never, ever thought he had in him and have a brilliant MOM game against CL opposition the other night? I'm still not totally convinced by Mulgrew, but Lenny's been proved right and me wrong so often that I almost expect him to be MOM in February! There's simply nobody left to criticise at the moment! Sammy, though. I always knew Sammy had it, the big man just needed his confidence back and Lenny gave him that.
