was he vital in our european performances? yes. is he the best we could hope for? no.

you can tell that he isnt a natural winger. he is good at what he does, but he isnt a natural winger. thats why i think we do need a natural left sided winger, to give us a bit different to what we currently have.

How much would it cost to go out and buy a player that could contribute as much as Samaras has to us qualifying for last 16? I would imagine quite a lot, unless we unearthed another gem but then he wouldn't have the big mans experience. I'm delighted to still have him on-board.

Absolutely. People are raving about how Emenike destroyed us with his power - Samaras obliterated them with his superior power. Samaras is world class.

That's because - in all fairness - none of us really know what we can afford, and who we can afford :50:

Sammy is especially this season and should be our first name on the team sheet left side of a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3.

Samaras has got 5 goals and 4 assists in Europe this season he also won us a crucial penalty. I don't think we could get better than that without breaking the bank.

Sammy the * tourist. He can't score at home but once he goes abroad he can't stop scoring.

Over the years you will struggle to find a bigger Samaras critic than myself but this season he has been exceptional and if I was the manager he would be first name on my teamsheet.

He didn't play against Benfica and he played half a game against Barca. :84:

I think it's fair to say if Samaras played against Benfica and if he played against Barca for 90 minutes we would have qualified in first place. :50:

personally i think sammys been one of our better players this season, he done brilliant for us in europe and as long as he contributes something to our team week in week out then so * if he doesn't score alot of goals, play him out wide and leave the goal scoring to hooper!

    Sammy Irreplaceable

I have always been a fan of Samaras, you could see early on in his Celtic career that he had a bit of class. He one of very few players to play for Celtic that I can recall who is either praised ridiculously or berated equally ridiculously I think he has shown his class in the champions League and the qualifiers that really should be unquestionable.

I was actually thinking about the whole will Wanyama go,will Hooper go debate and thought you know as good as both those players are (particularly Wanyama as Hooper would in fact be replaced not taking anything away from his achievements) the one player in the squad i'd actually be upset in a football sense to see leave would be Samaras as I think he really does have the potential to become a talismanic figure for us.Just like to add that the little i've seen of Lassad has given me a similar buzz as when I first seen Sammy play and if Lassad can go on to contribute the same I for one would be delighted.

If you take your samarse sunglasses off, and look at a player, who will produce even 50% out of a game and be positive then you can call him all the * you want, but he will never ever, be a legend because he has not got it in his locker, end of
