The thing about Russel is he is a massive tim, so would probably be likely to choose us over a move to some mid-rate English team for the sake of slightly more dosh. Let him develop more, the guaranteed first team football will do him well

 

upside as has been said, is that he'll get a * of a lot more game time at Utd than he would here. hope we keep tabs on him and he plays well without increasing his value too much.

a expect him to come in within the first week of the transfer window re-opening. just wondering can a deal be arranged between the clubs before then even for contracted players obviously they wouldn't be able to come in till the transfer window opens but if it os possible a think we could here something before the season is over hopefully

 

we can buy players out-with the windows but they cannot leave their club until the window reopens.

in this case, it's highly unlikely that Dundee Utd would entertain the idea as they would feel he would give less to the cause knowing he wasn't going to be their player for much longer. they'd want him to focus knowing they are still playing for a position in the league and for a cup.

if i were Dundee Utd i'd be resigned to losing him and egging him on to prove himself to potential suitors. that means against us and Rangers, i'd expect him to step up a gear. i think he could be a thorn in Rangers side as he has already been. downside for him is that the rest of his team aren't up to his standard. we'd be more likely to strangle his opportunities against us than Rangers would.

the only player i can see us doing a deal like this is for Forster as he is already playing for us under a loan.

 

thanks for that hammy a think that could be a possibility, he doesn't seem like the type who won't give his all and a would imagine if he was the manager would say to the board of any proposed move like this if he wasn't we can only hope
