too many to choose a favourite, der all smashin!
Purely based on how we performed against udinese twice and how that second leg with athletico went I think we could raise a few eye brows in the champions league next year, combine that with the fact we are going from strength to strength - well, reckon our club could suprise us and exceed the expectations we put on them!

add a target man of a bit o quality and we have the makings of a decent team ,i feel just now we are playing stuffy strachan type footy which some on here will disagree with , we have found a better balance of attack and defence .

this year we would get sme points in the group stage and possibly lose to any team and win against any team thats an strange but sometimes good celtic attribute

We have done absolutely nothing with this group of players to suggest we would put up any sort of fight in the CL. I'm not by any means saying we arn't a good side, but lets be honest, we ain't good enough. It wasn't long ago that we were 15 points behind a shocking and awful Rangers side.

That being said, if we signed a couple of top quality CBs, and another top quality striker, and with a little bit of experience, we would possibly be good enough to contend for a last 16 spot.

I don't think were that far away from a team that can qualify for the last 16.

We would need at least a world class cb and a striker who is good enough to play up front on his own.

We performed valiantly in the group of death in the Europa cup. That was without izzaguire as well. I feel we've gelled as a team since then as well.

We always seem to perform well at home, if we can sort out our away form then I see no reason why we cant. Of course we need to play well in every game, cant afford slip ups or loss of concentration ie hooper, cha in this year EC. A little bit of luck wouldn't go amiss either.

However if we do qualify for next years CL I can see us busting out in 3rd, narrowly losing out on the last 16 despite playing well, in typical Celtic fashion.

If we maintain this form yes. we did compete in an europa league group that was harder than alot of the CL groups and we were "unlucky" not to progress we gave 3 strong european teams a good fight.

This team only got into euro thanks to some off the park rulings.....
Miles away from a last 16team.

I'll be happy just qualifying for the competition.

That, in itself, will prove to be a difficult enough endeavour.

if we had a talisman to play up front on his own away at tough games , with the 5 man midfield we could put out , we would make the last 16. people shouldnt under estimate how good this young side could become

lets win the league first though eh :icon_mrgreen:

I don't think we're THAT much worse than Ajax and they had a great CL campaign this year

Let's make sure we are SPL champions in May before running ahead of ourselves! We struggled at home against a young Dundee United team once they got a goal back, and the St Mirren team that made a game of it on Saturday was built from a squad of 8 players last summer.

We have improved greatly since being 3-0 down at Kilmarnock, but we have a long way to go before we are a serious threat to anyone good in Europe.

We definitely improved in Europe as the campaign went on, however the CL is a step up. At the same point I do think that Lenny is figuring Europe out quite nicely so far...

But first of all, let's win the league and maybe then we talk about it!!!

    Hail Hail
