No it wasn't. He was a bit part player and to get £6m was fantastic business for us.

As will the performance of all our opponents domestically as we are the only show in town now. Why not factor that into your thinking?

We have scored the same amount of goals this season and conceded a few more.
Who are all these players who have lost motivation then? Is it our 30 goal top scorer? Our 18 goal attacking midfielder? Maybe its our wing backs who have contributed more in an attacking sense than they have done for years?

I'm not sure that is correct but even if it were, he's earned the right to be arrogant. Look where the club is now compared to where we were before he took over.

So who would you like to see come in that would do better?

Agree regarding twitter, and that Ki was a loss. A lot of people couldn't see Ki for the quality player that he was in my opinion. But we did get decent money for him to be fair.

But to say that we are going backwards under Lennon is wrong in my opinion. He has now won 2 out of 3 league titles he has managed us. I don't think some people understand how well Lennon has done in his short spell here. Mowbray set us back 5 years in my opinion, and had we not appointed the correct manager, we would still be feeling the effects of his time in charge. I'm amazed at how far we have come on since the Mowbray era.

They'll get that amount for him because of the league he is currently playing in. We got the best deal for him we could

People on here now go overboard about Ki, compared to the absolute bullshit criticism he took when he was here. I'd rather Ledley and Wanyama, and Kayal when he's on form.

How often do teams do well in Europe because of their good passion and grit?

If you want to perform well in Europe you need to be good at football, how often do European Cup winners do it through passion and grit? once every 8-10 years. Its not the way forward, if passion and grit was what was needed then Scottish teams would be great in Europe as would the national team but theyre not as passion and grit basically means "shut them down more, chase the ball better, tackle them harder, run faster" and if your doing that stuff it means the opposition are the team with the ball.

You all say that Ki was a bit part player.... he shouldn't have been though, he should have been one of the first names on the team sheet week in week. He was taken for granted by Lennon and the fans. He's gone now and we're playing absolute dross every week.

Ki imo is the best central playmaking midfielder we'll probably ever have in our puff(from then on not before then) and we let him go rather than build a team around him.

We should have been looking to play a good possession, passing style of play that would have been great for Europe like teams like Basel, Steaua and Ajax but instead we rarely played him and let him go, staying with the old hard working style.

We should have been looking to put a team together like

    Ki Wanyama/Ledley
    Forrest Maloney Commons
    Hooper

    But we * it.

We done well in Europe this year because of our style of play. We've not done as well in the SPL because of those same qualities.

I'd rather do well in Europe while dominating the SPL and getting a (possible) double.

Like I say, people go overboard. For one, he isn't really a true playmaker, he's a tempo setter with a lot in his locker, I was a massive fan of Ki but we had players ahead of him in the pecking order for a reason. He's went down south and done well, we still have better central midfielders here.

It doesn't matter who we have competing against us. The fact remains that Lennon has won 2 out of 3 League Titles and was very unlucky not to win all 3, after rebuilding from scratch after the mess Mowbray had left us in. It's not Celtic or Lennon's fault we don't have any real competition, we can only beat what's put in front of us, which Lennon has done in the League the past two years.

Your man Maloney there is a better 'playmaker' than Ki as is Kris Commons.

He's as good a playmaker from deep as we could hope to ever get.

The reason people were ahead of him was because we never tried to go to the next level with a better European style, we bottled it and reverted to type of the old hardworking British style that will only get you so far before you need to rely on luck.

If we want to be genuinly good then we need players like Ki.

Ki is one of the main reasons why teams like Swansea with average players are a top 10 Premiership side and teams like South Korea with average players are one of the best National teams... they keep the ball well, keep calm and are able to trouble better teams and beat weaker teams easier because of it.

Build a team around Ki? Are you for real? He has only started about half of Swansea's games, not scored and had 3 assists all season. Getting the money we did for him was superb business for the club and in no way has letting him go set the team back.

Then how do you explain or better performances in Europe this year, without Ki, in a harder competition than our performances with Ki in a lesser one?

Give me Wanyama anyday of the week. Could you see Ki being able to do what Wanyama did against Barcelona? Or Joe Ledley's superb marking of Xavi completely out the game?

He is a good player, with a couple of large flaws but nevertheless a good player. There is a reason why he went to Swansea and not a Man United or Chelsea.
