What's your point? 92 points was an incredible points total the season before but it still could not win us the league. Would you rather we amassed mental points totals yet still lost the league?

As for your laughable comment about good managers and Champions League games, that's not even worth commenting on. I'm out.

What I mean is they games take care of themselfs his tactics were obviously spot on, he had done brilliant in the CL but until he sorts out the performances of players not looking like breaking a sweat in some league and domestic games I'll not be happy.

And my point being about the points total was that we weren't better than the season before the huns just weren't as good.

Especially since one was Jock Stein, an absolute genius, and the other was Martin O'Neill, a man who was given almost unlimited funds to play with during his time here :smiley-laughing002:

Bottom line is, Lennon's job won't depend on the outcome of cup finals and semi finals. It will depend on how many league titles he wins and how well we do in Europe. The cups are just an added bonus and have been viewed as such for years.

The league is no.1 priority, followed by a healthy run in Europe. We've achieved both this season, thus, Lennon's job is safe and then some.

Have to state though Lennon's team selection, tactics and substitutions by and large do leave a lot to be desired. I think he is still naive and so is the team.

That being said he has only been a manager for 2.5 years, what he does need to do though is get it into his head exactly how he wants to play and who he wants to use that suits a system.

I do agree with one thing TrueTim said though, about a plan B, that is 100% correct we have no plan B whatsover, at times Lennon just throws on more attackers without any real direction or purpose, at times its like Mowbrays 4-2-4 formation.

People need to stop lumping all cup performances in together. Over the past few years we have got to the at least the semis in all the cups and we never play well on Hampden. Its as simple as that. If we play that same team that we did against st mirren in the semi but at Celtic park or in paisley I think we win that game comfortably.

To actually have people suggesting NL should "consider his position" if we lose tomorrow is just utterly bat * crazy. :smiley-laughing002:

    Talk about arrogant and spoiled.

Anyway just watched his presser today, came across as very dignified even if we all know he's just as angry as we are over the LNS whitewash. Line of the day as well "We're playing Juventus in the last 16 of the Champions League, not renting them a training pitch" :smiley-laughing002: :notworthy

Too true. It astounds me that any Celtic fan can think that way.

Dire, really? So far under Lenny when he has used his own team we have won the Scottish cup, lost a semi final to a joke last minute penalty and are in the quarter final this season.

In the league cup we have been in two finals, one lost to one of the luckiest goals you'll ever see, the other when certain decisions that should have went our way would have probably seen a different outcome and been in the semi's this year.

Not sure dire is how many would describe that tbf.

I don't think he "should consider his position" if we lose tomorrow but he really should take a long hard look at where these slip-ups are coming from. We've used the "we can't win every game" and the "we just had a bad game" excuses far too often this season in my opinion. Is it the players who are turning up thinking the games won before it starts? Is it team selection? Too many changes and not having a settled 11? Is it bad tactics?

We've won just under two thirds of our league games this season, that isn't good enough for a squad of our calibre in my opinion and it certainly won't put arses on seats.

MON wasn't given almost unlimited funds that is nonsense. He bought a few decent players but didn't really spend that much.

Put it this way, in his first season he was able to spend £12 million on Lennon and Sutton.

We've probably spent just a wee bit more than that over the last three seasons.

Neil Lennon has the best track record of any Celtic manager in my lifetime in the transfer market. Although how much credit does he deserve for it?

John Park gets the lion share. Wihtout John Park our celtic team looks a TON worse on the shoestring budget we've had to assemble it. Long may he continue and I hope he grooms someone to pickup the reins when he goes

Look I seem to have took a hammering here maybe my opinion is ott but on weds night something snapped. I've became feed up with those lacklustre performances that have been every half a dozen games over the past 3 years, how we can be brilliant one week and not turn up or even look interested the next is beyond me. Is it a lot to ask for the players to give 100% every game? Those performances like weds night wind me right up, it's a team that doesn't look interested. Maybe we should have CL patches on our strips for every game and the CL music over the tanoys before the games, seems to be the only thing that gets them going at times!

It's upto lenny to get them motivated before the domestic games so the buck stops at him.

I think a lot of the players are bored. I know I am, bar the CL games

Of course not I could forgive us for St Johnstone last week I thought the effort and endevour was there. The motherwell performance was a different breed, that was the type were quickly you could realise a) The team weren't interested and B) lenny had no clue how to change it round
