Today on the way back to Kilmarnock from Glasgow on the train there were Celtic fans on the way back from the game sitting next to me and my mates drunk and harassing one of my mates who's a rangers fan but he took it as a joke. The fans were singing songs since we won the game which were okay to sing and then got on to singing about the ibrox disaster so a man walked up and said to them can you have respect for others on the train please and keep the noise down a wee bit. The reply he got was "get your * oot" (the man was overweight) then the man who asked them to be quiet punched the man twice to the face leaving him a bad cut on his left eye so the Celtic fan got up and hut him repeatedly and smashed a bottle off of him which also went over us. I think the man deserved to be hut after he started the violence but the beating he took was unreal. Once the fight stopped it turned into words and the Celtic fan went back and hut the man repeatedly again including when he was on the ground and ripped his top right off of the man. After that the man got up and the Celtic fan said "you a Hun" and went to shake his hand and the man replied "aye" going to shake the Celtic fans hand but the Celtic fan pulled away and hut him another 2 hooks to the face. At the next stop the Celtic fans ran and after tht the police came with paramedics. I was really disgusted with this and wished I had made more of an effort to stop the fight but I'll be honest I didn't have the balls. The Celtic fans I also got to mention were in a group of 4 or 5 aged between 25-40 and the man was himself aged about 19. although the violence was started by the man I couldn't help but feel sorry for him.

Know how you feel mate, stuck between a rock and a hard place. But, as you say, if he started the fight, maybe he got his karma, albeit extreme. People like that sicken me.

Sounds pretty shocking - should've video'd it. Might've been a hut on YouTube.

But in all seriousness groups of drunk football fans can range from funny to slightly loud and annoying to complete * (and often Bucky swigging neds looking for trouble which often results in violence). Sounds like a pretty serious incident though. Hopefully the police can get to the bottom of it.

disgusting to hear that! the man had a right to say to respect others on the train, nobody should ever make a joke out of such a tragic disaster. On the point of disgust, on the news there was a celtic fan giving racist abuse to kyle bartley and maurice edu on twitter. some fans just dont respect other people and need to be sat down and taught a lesson. hopefully these lads get caught :50:

Get your * out is a bit of banter depending how he said it.

Lead to the punch and then clearly went to far, disappointing all together.

Hate this 'kid on fans' pish, their fans as much as anybody whether they're in a fight or not ffs.

From what you've said, the singing about the Ibr*x Disaster is what started that whole fracas. Hate the pack mentality and despite the fact that the single guy threw the first punch it could reasonably be argued that there was provocation, not to mention that the reaction of this 4-5 Celic fans was completely excessive to say the least. Then there is the fact that they continued to batter the bloke when they are already down. :38:

Am very sorry to learn of this having happened. I hope that the culprits are apprehended as this type of behaviour is unacceptable. It is incidents like this that means our support gets tarred witht he same brush as those from Mordor & gives our club a bad name.

The guy deserved a punch for personally insulting the man to his face, Just unfortunate that the guy gave it back but once you've hit someone you cant complain if they beat the * out of you.

Absolute disgrace. Why these creatures insist on being * I really don't know.

    +1 on the public transport.

Aye agreed. Sooner the people come to realise this the better. The Celtic family might be great, but, like any football team on earth, we have our fair share of total wanks.

We travel in a group on the train and it ranges from about 20-40 of us sometimes. Things like ibrox disaster songs would'nt be tolerated and any time someone gets a bit out of order the majority chin them. The group you described sound like a bunch of dicks and it should never have got as far as the violence in the first place. we are always calling the huns knuckledraggers but this * is every bit as bad.

Exactly mate. People aren't going to suddenly be angels because they support Celtic. Thankfully the majority are great.
