164 SPL goals, I would be glad for him not to end up at that lot. Can't see what's absolutely mental about that. Would prefer him to end up elsewhere but if it was between us and them then I'd be glad of them losing out on his goals.

Lennon was asked the question and he pretty much praised Boyd out of politeness. He had a good few years where he managed goals for Kilmarnock, and then scored a lot of goals against the smaller sides in the SPL for Rangers.
He then flopped at Boro, a successful (but brief) spell at Forest and a disaster in Turkey.

He scored maybe once against Celtic, and only a handful in Europe. Stokes, Hooper and even Samaras are far better options than Kris Boyd.

If we are talking about being an SPL striker, which is the only thing we can be talking about if we're talking about Boyd signing for Celtic, then no way is Samaras a better option than Kris Boyd. It would take Samaras about 20 years to reach the number of goals Kris Boyd has scored in the SPL.

Against smaller teams Boyd will get you more goals, I'll give you that. But there is no doubt that Samaras works defences better. He provides more of an aerial presence, pulls them out of position and can run in behind.

If we're talking about strictly being 'goal poachers' I'd rather have Hooper and Stokes. Both well capable of goals, and have more to their all-round game.

The good thing about the 3 strikers I mentioned is that they are diverse, and offer different qualities.

Hope your right, but also hope he doesn't sign for the huns either.
