Good grief... * were Liverpool thinking about last night with their 'Suarez-shirts'.

He's been found guilty of racism towards another player... so the entire squad (and managerial team) wear 'tribute t-shirts'. Infuckingcredible!!!

In any other line of work Suarez would have been sacked the morning after the finding!!!

That's an absolute disgrace and I hope the FA absolutely muller them!

An eight match ban says it all really.

Violent conduct usually carries a three match ban, so you can kick someone in the head and get banned for three matches, but if you insult a non-white you get an eight match ban.

Insulting a non-white is the new rape or paedophilia and now Suarez will have to live with being a labelled a racist wherever he goes.

By the way all this was based on Patrice Evra's say alone. There were no other witnesses.

He also said it wasn't racist though. His own grandfather is black.

I've gone right off Liverpool since Kenny Dalglish got involved down there again. He looked a right tool standing there with that Suarez t-shirt on last night.

Bit different isn't it? Racist and Sexist. The FA only have Evra's word so Liverpool FC have every right to fully back there player.

    Which is racist!!!!!!!!!

Why are Liverpool fans being so stupid about this. Suarez was RACIST. Would the club back him if he raped or murders someone?

Also some of the comments about Kenny going about are disgusting.

why would he admit it and then appeal the decision?

What did he admit to saying?

Everyone at Liverpool is behind him so they arent going to lend there support to someone who is openly racist?

In the UK you cannot define a person by his or her ethnicity, gender, religion or sexuality. It's against the law (which also extends to football pitches if I remember rightly!).

Furthermore, if you refer to the colour of a persons skin during an exchange of insults, then it is an offence.

Add the two together, then Suarez's admission of using the word 'negrito' is sufficient for him to be found guilty.

The fact he and Evra are from different countries is an irrelevance.
The assertion that 'negrita' is not viewed as being offensive in Uruguay is an irrelevance.
The fact that Suarez's grandparent is black is an irrelevance.

If we're going to eradicate racism, bigotry and downright disrespect from the game, then clear messages have to be sent out!

PS - Suarez is hardly a poor wee lamb! He's previously fought with teammates, bitten opponents, indulged in unsportsmanlike behavior at the WC and most recently made an obscene gesture at opposing fans. He sounds like a right fud!

Anyone would handball the ball if it meant there team would progress it wasnt premeditated it was just instinct.
Making an obscene gesture and fighting with team mates doesnt make him a bad person either i am sure there were reasons behind it and in all cases there are always 2 sides to the story.

Cant even begin to condone the biting though :56::56:

I agree he does sound like a fud, but if he is being charged only for using the word "negrita", should the rolling stones not also be charged? (serious question). It isnt a racist word. Context is everything but seeing as noone seems to know the context then it comes down to using one contentious word.

Also odd that Suarez is mixed race but he is being charged for racially abusing a black guy. Im pretty sure if a black guy uses the ever so scary "N word" he wouldnt be charged for it. Is it just the case that Suarez doesnt look dark enough to get away with it?

All totally blown out of proportion in my opinion. If it is proven he was being hateful to someone based on race by all means throw the book at him. At the moment it looks like he is getting an 8 game ban for saying a foreign word that people dont even understand!

Yes you are absolutely correct. Evra is a little rat crying to the media. Annoying twit reminds me of some elementary school girl telling her parents some kid called her names.

It is also extremely harsh considering that there seems to be not a thread of evidence around what was said had Suarez not openly explained what he said. He could have easily just denied it and got away with it. He came out, explained what he said, and explained that he didnt consider it racist, there were no racial context, and he is not a racist.

    nigro isnt a racist term

this whole race row is stupid, before calling a black person a negro or colour was the pc way of saying it and black was considered racist now its the other way round. you cant say anything in britian without upsetting someone
