I remember when I was a swimming teacher I told a woman who struggled to swim with the poolside to her left hand side that it was because she was swimming uphill. She believed me.

No. The moon causes high tides in some parts of the world and low parts in others.

No it's not the same. The depth of the ocean depends on the layout of the seabed below it. The ocean floor is just as uneven as dry land... just, well, deeper.

know about the moon and high tides, it was more the concept of what sea level is for height measurement

'sea level' is a relatitive term to measure the height of surrounding land... something to measure surround land mass like mountains. As for if the level of the sea is the same everywhere, then no, even withing 15 feet waves show the level to be different.

Depth and sea level are not the same, depth is measure down from sea level but sea level is not measured from the sea bed up to the surface. Sea level is just a term for measuring points from the surface of the surrounding ocean I believe and has no height (I suppose sea levels height is 0 M/CM/MM)
