I'm sure Messi releaseclause was put up significantly after a team triggered in January.

Teenage Brazilian center back, he's not the biggest or most physical but he's very quick and good on the ball, I think he'll start for Brazil next year at the world cup tbh

A lot of people get excited over the amount of money being spent and all the transfer stuff but it's quite depressing when you think about it.

Yeah, they've only done that in response to Barca trying to sign Thiago Silva. There's no way Messi moves to PSG, even if they do trigger his release clause.

Christian Benteke makes U-turn and extends Aston Villa deal

Christian Benteke has signed a contract extension with Aston Villa after withdrawing his transfer request.
The Belgium striker stunned Villa earlier this month by asking to leave just one year into the four-year deal he signed on arrival from Genk last summer.
But after holding training-ground talks with manager Paul Lambert, Benteke has instead signed a new deal which ties him to the club until 2017.
He told the Villa website: "I spoke with the manager when I returned to training and we had a good talk.
"I am very happy to be back here in Birmingham and at Aston Villa, and to sign a new contract. This is a great club and it has given me a lot. Now I have to give back to my team-mates and the fans who have always been right behind me."
Benteke's 19 league goals last season played a key role in Villa's survival and led to speculation over a summer move to Tottenham.
He said: "The end of last season was very good and the lads were very strong. It was not easy but we came through it and the confidence is high. So everyone knows what we have to do now - be better. I need to be better than last year."
Lambert said: "I had a full and frank discussion with Christian Benteke on his return to training this week regarding his future. It is my opinion that the best thing for Christian is to remain at Aston Villa.
"I'm delighted, having time to re-evaluate his future, Christian has decided to commit to the club. It's a huge bonus and I'm sure the supporters are every bit as delighted as me to have him on board and raring to go."

Just 44 matches into his career and Marquinhos, 19, moves to PSG for 35m euros - fifth most expensive defender ever. Nuts.

Just seen Benteke has withdrew his transfer request and signed a new 4-year deal. Great business from Lambo there.

Arsenal, Man Utd & Chelsea are screaming out for a player like Luis Gustavo, don't know why they aren't on the phone to Pep.

Also dislike Jovetic being Number 35...

And good to see a bit of sense from Benteke. Something a lot of modern day footballers lack. He got a bit big for his boots but seemingly his feet are back on the ground, and he's ready to continue with the team he strives in.

Young defender who had a very good season with Roma, but he is still very raw and is still more potential than ability at this point. 35 million euros is just too much for someone who could end up being another Simon Kjaer who just couldn't live up to the hype, although he may turn out to be a fantastic defender in the future.
