It is a fabricated myth that we dominate more games with him in the team.

He has started the last 2 games and has misplaced at least half a dozen crucial, simple, passes. For a professional footballer, captaining Celtic and earning tens of thousands of pounds a week, it is absolutely criminal how * he is at passing any further than 5 yards.

He will probably be starting from now on as well :54:

One of our better performers are going to find themselves on the bench.

Last two games we have dominated the midfield funnilly enough, one against Udinese as well.

I'm not a Broony hater mate, I just don't think there is a place for him in our midfield atm, and that's before Ledley is fit.

We all see different things I suppose :50:

    Very true that.

The emergence of big Vic has definitely helped us deal with the injury to Brown.

I know mate, I just find it frustrating that he doesn't get the credit that he deserves.

I think he needs to work his way back into the team just now as well but with the way things are going, I want him on the pitch for the Old Firm match.

As much as I think Brown is important to us, I'd be struggling to fit him into a team to play the huns.

I want us to definitely be going with Stokes and Hooper up front so I'd rule out the 5 in midfield on that basis.

Ledley is one of the first names on the team sheet for me so he'd be in there ahead of Brown. There is absolutely no way you can drop big Vic so he has to play. Forrest has dug us out of many holes this season it's unreal so he should really be starting. And although I wouldn't be that fussed to see him out of the team, there is a real argument for Samaras to be starting as well.

All that and you still have Kayal in there to think about as well.

Tough call for Lenny to make, a very tough call in fact. Glad it's not me needing to make that decision.

    Assuming all are fit...

    Forrest Kayal Wanyama Ledley

That midfield would boss the huns all day and night.

Broony always takes about 4 or 5 games back to find his feet. Lenny is trying to get him match fit ahead of the OF game when we will definately need him.

Well I have just watched the first half on Alba and Broony has been as good as any player on the park, actually one of our better players, and has 100% pass completion rate until he hit a couple of short ones in the space of a minute around the 40 mins mark. He was on the ball quite a lot and completed dozens of passes. So far I would make Broony, Ki and Sammy our best players.

update-Now the game on alba h`s reached 70 minutes and in 69 of them Broony has 100% passing rate. Just one pair of short passes around the 40 minute mark.

80 minutes in now and 79 minutes have been 100% perfect pass completion rate for Broony.

i like our midfield stock at the minute , it very mixed and some players have attributes for certain games and some players have others, it gives us options for each game/team and also to change it up as game being played, Brown is a good option , you need your grafter like brown ,kayal , wanyama , but also you need the creative types like ki , ledley, you can get on browns back for some faults but what he has others may not ect , just my opinion that lennon build good midfield

I don't hate brown or anything, he's just...not a particularly good footballer, I know he'll give 100% every game and that great but, with our current midfield he doesn't really have a place in the starting lineup imo.

Kayal and Wanyama are just as hard working but much better defensively, Ledley also matches him for workrate and is an all round better player, he outdoes Ki for effort but Ki is infinitely better technically, so unless we have myriad injuries he has no chance at CM.

As for playing wide, last season he was good at right mid, but I think people get a bit carried away, he plugged a gap and did a decent job yes, but he wasn't AMAZING, Forrest has been great this season and it would be daft to drop him for Brown on the right, we'd lose a massive attacking threat.

Really if he starts now, it's because he's captain and the captain must play, it's not on merit.

A useful player to have in the squad, but doesn't quite deserve to be an automatic first pick.

So glad I watched this after all the negative comments because it confirms my strong feeling that some fans just will never feel his fact fits. Thank fck managers dont suffer biases like that. The bad pass thing is a myth. I specifically watched him and he hit 3 deliberate passes which didnt find a man. No worse than most of our players. He covered a phenomenal amount of ground and IMO was one of our best 5 or 6 players.

This goes to show how much nonsense you spout about 'Broony' in the same way you did about 'Wee Shaun' and every other Scottish player you watch with rose tinted spectacles.

His passing was a disgrace, when there was a simple pass on he tried cross field balls and they went straight to the opposition. Square, across the face balls that are criminal at any level of football.

That is nowhere near good enough for the Captain of Celtic.

I only caught the second half of the game today on alba when I got in from work and I have to say I thought Brown was just average, not good but not terrible either, although one moment stuck out in my mind, right at the end of the game maybe even on 90 minutes, ball came straight to his feet pretty much on the edge of our box and he miscontrolled it like two feet infront of himself, ST J player just lifted it straight off him.

Against a better team that was a clear goal scoring opportunity.

It's that sort of schoolboy slackness that really does my head in when the rest of the time he's 110% effort, at this level you can't afford to * up the basics, he was the same the other night against Udinese, obviously trying hard but gave the ball away far too much with what should have been simple passes.

I really wish you would stop making this accusation. You always seem to be ready to pounce with this when you disagree with me. If you want to focus on any nationalistic biases among Celtic fans then I think its odd you focus on rare perceived Scottish ones when many of our fans have a mountain of expressions of Irish nationalism which I notice you never comment on. So its OK for loads of folk to go on and on about Irish patriotism but the slightest whiff of Scottish patriotism and its a problem.

Facts are facts. His passing rate was excellent. Most of our players hit 3 passes that didnt reach a man. So why focus on him?

So why not comment on Wanyama doing exactly the same thing and haveing a complete nightmare of mispassing in a recent game?

Because this thread is about Brown.

And Wanyama has been generally great recently.
