You are an admirably faithful defender of Lenny but I think there is some doubt about it. I think one deciding factor is-can we afford to bring someone else in who is a leader, experienced and who can cut it in the CL or is it going to be someone talented but young, inexperienced and unproven. If the latter is true, there may be a case for using Lenny sparingly in the CL and as a sub in the SPL but I cant see him doing it regularly. I think he still can raise his game for the odd game (often the big ones) but he has looked off the pace in many of the more run of the mill SPL games. I could live with him staying but not as the first choice 11 thats starts next season. Not sure he would stay for that kind of role unless some coaching role was added.

I think he good do one more season but like Keltoi says as more as a bench man. He still has a good influence on the team and his experience would help what is still quite a young team. This should definitely be his last season as the first pick centre mid.

    Look at the evidence lads

Lennon played some of best games in a Celtic jersey in the CL this season, quality like that doesnt just invade you, He is struggling to work with Mr.Hartley at the moment and like the other mob across they blame their Captain when things go pear shaped

    Familiarity breeds content

Keep the ball win the game

he should go at the end of the season, i am not a lennon fan, but do admire his heart.
however, the longer he stays around, the worse he plays and therefore, we will not remember him all that fondly. go while you are still loved by the fans lennon.

Yes agree but im a Lennon fan and he has been the mainstay now for a long time ....Hope he hangs his boots up at the end of the season and goes with dignity ...however if he signs again i will be 100 % behind the guy just as i am with any player that pulls on the Hoops :celt_2:

I am definitely a big fan of Neil Lennon. He has been one of my favourite Celtic players over the last 7 years. He has been a terrific players for us and I think has had another solid season for us this year. I hope he can Captain Celtic to a League and Cup double at Hampden in the Cup Final next month. That would be the perfect way to sign off for Lennon as Celtic Captain.
I would be happy to see Lennon stay on next year but not as Captain or first team starter. I think if Lennon stays it would be best in the role of squad backup. I think he would be superb in that role as his experience would be invalubale with what is largely a young squad and certainly over a long hard season he could give us some important minutes.

I think Lennon would be quite happy to
play a Paul Lambert,Tom Boyd role at
Celtic next season.Squad captian but with
a different team captian on the field.

You Lennon haters just totally * me off. Why don't you go and join all the other huns who have continually barracked him from the terraces since he joined Celtic

He plays in a role that some people will never appreciate. He can still do that job next year as he has never had great pace but his reading off the game is first class and that has not changed. Personally I would prefer to see a more dynamic midfield and for the majority of games domestically and especially at CP a player like Lennon isn't really needed. But if GS gives him another year then I fully understand and support that decision.

    1. He was good against killie.
    2. The heart and passion he showed when he was celebrating shows how much this club means to him and aslong as he has the heart and passion he should never be forced out.

Aye saw it, was a real cannonball! I don't think he has a half bad shot, it's just that he never tries, he should have a go more often

never a truer word spoken,i think only people who study football as an art realise the job lennon does and why strachan has so much faith in him.For reading the the game there is none better and the passion he has on the pitch can only be infectious to the players who don't know the history of our club.

I do admire the role he plays for us i admire the holding midfielder like keano did and makele does for chelsea atm their part of great teams but lennon now just dosnt have the legs imo so for all his knowledge he can be beaten in a race quite easily from players
