I agree with this. I dont know why we always want to change our team around them. They are rotten and as long as we play to our best we should beat them. Stick with 4 4 2 and make sure we battle as hard as they do. When we lose to rangers it is almost always because 1.) we are outfought in midfield or 2.) our defence gift them goals. Sort out defensive lapses and get stuck in and we should be fine playing our best team in our usual formation.

Sorry I can't agree that they are more potent. I had the misfortune of watching THEM against Killie yesterday......42 minutes before there was a shot on target and that was from Killie !!
Throughout the 90 minutes all I could think was how the f**k are we trailing in the league to this mob.
We should start with the 11 from Saturday (unless Izzy has proved himself match fit) and go rip them a new a**ehole.

start with the same team we have been, and might be pushing it a bit, but even having samaras on the left .. still a bit mixed though.

this is our downfall, when we play the huns, we always adapt to THEIR style of play .. infact, we do this in near enough all european games as well. we go into the games trying to adapt to their formation. its all about the other team, giving them far too much respect, when we should be out to play our own attacking game and let them adapt to us. we've started to do that in europe and the games have been pretty good against decent opposition, who are a similar, if not better than the huns

We should approach it like every other home SPL game and play the strongest team we have available to us. Stokes and Hooper up front, maybe have Samaras (if Commons is still injured) out wide on the left and Forrest on the right. Kayal and Ledley in the middle, Wanyama and Mulgrew in central defence.

As for our full backs, it depends on our situation really. If Izzy returns earlier than expected and feels he is ready to play against them, then he must, in my opinion. He is too important to leave out, if available. Adam Matthews should be on the right and Forster in goal of course.

    Thus:

    Forster

    Matthews Wanyama Mulgrew Izaguirre (?)

    Forrest Kayal Ledley Samaras

    Stokes Hooper

    Subs:

    Zaluska.
    McCourt.
    Majstorovic.
    McGeough.
    Bangura.
    Ki.
    Rogne.

I also watched the game and granted they were poor. But they have been quite poor all season and won. They only just lost their first league game in 25. I unlike some go on form rather than one match and they will be more dangerous than any SPL team.

I have no doubt in my mind that we will hump them if we keep playing the way we did at the weekend, my fear is Lennon will bend over backwards to make the team Rangers proof and thus * it up again.

we approach it like any other home game; 4-4-2 with stokes and hooper as strikers, ledley and forrest on the wings and kayal and victor in the middle of the park.

we'll walk right through them with that team.

Have to agree with you Hammer, play as we have the last few weeks and go for the jugular, wanyama and kayal in midfield for strength and defensive ability, stooper up front, show no fear, they are an average team in defence and midfield

Play Forrest upfront and just keep putting the ball in behind Goian. That would be hilarious. :56:

Let them adjust to try and counter our threat, if we carry on the form from the past few games then we should keep going as is. Kayal and Vic in midfield will give us the platform to get majority of possession and build on that to get goal chances. Blood and Thunder and get stuck right into them.

The way the front line have been playing with changing positions and overlaps have been pulling defences all over the place and creating gaps we can exploit, keep at it and we will reap the benefits throughout the rest of the month and the OF game in my opinion. :50:

best post iv read in a while.

treat them with ZERO respect because they are garbage . they are redundant going forward without naismith , and have one of the worst midfields i have ever seen from a hun team . if we go out there and squeeze them high up the park with forrest and stooper linking up , we will win comfortably . i can not wait for it :celt_2:

I know, just the idea of seeing Mulgrew as a left midfielder makes me cringe again. Sure it worked last season in that one game, but we came into it in terrible form and were looking to avoid a humping.

We have to play to our strengths, if they play donkeys like McCulloch and Broadfoot then we have to set out to run them over.

Play our normal game, with the players who have dragged us out of our slump as the first names on the teamsheet.

If the likes of Brown and Commons start replacing Wanyama and Forrest when they are fully fit then this would be a disaster for team morale.

Aye totally agree, if we keep up our good form then let the players returning from injury earn thier place back. Maybe starting with 15-20mins subs appearances to show how much they want it. I understand we don't see what's happening on the training fields through the week but feel it be wrong for them to just step back into the starting line up if we can keep this run going.

    Our normal game.

One thing I've noticed, since Naismith has been injured they have almost completely lost there counter attacking threat.

IMO we struggle as a team when we loose our way in MF, too often there has not been a player to crack into the opposition, to break them up and offer us a little bit of stability in the natural ebb and flow of a game. On paper that should be Scott Brown, in recent games it has been big Victor.

We beat "them" by controlling the MF...Wanyama is the form player to do that - he is a MUST start.

I would drop ki and put wanyama in the middle with kayal. Ki tends to disappear in the big games, especially when hes made a mistake- loses confidence

Think davis would * a brick if he seen wanyama running towards him for a tackle
