Forster - 7 - decent performance some good saves, could he have done more for the goals? I dont think so.
Matty - 7 - Another solid game from the young welshman.
Loovens - 5 - Im not one of those that scapegoats the lad but he was poor, made a few errors that could have cost us some goals.
Maj - 6.5 - Decent game from him. Really bounced back after a poor start to the season.
Ledley - 6.5 - didnt have much to do when he was on, we missed him and I hope he isnt out for long.
Forrest - 6 - Very quiet tonight.
Kayal - 8 - MOTM from a Celtic point of View for me. Pressed a lot and some nice passing and flicks. Excels beside Wanyama when he is allowed more freedom.
Wanyame - 6.5 - He was okay, nothing worth mentioning though, still a quality member of the team and with be important.
Sammy - 8 - Just misses out on MOTM for me. Looked determined and unlucky not to get us a goal. Great Tim, people asking him to be punted etc. if he did want out he wouldnt be short of options very good player on his day hopefully his day occurs more often.
Ki - 5.5 - Poor today, frustrated me because we all know he has the skill. Misplaced a lot of passes and was afraid to shoot at times.
Stokes - 6 - Like Forrest very quiet tonight didnt get much chances against a solid Madrid defense.

Mulgrew - 7 - Played well at lb for a change, still rather have him in the center though.
Hooper - 6 - Quiet game due to a solid defense.
Brooney - 6.5- Just back and little opportunity to impress. But played some nice balls when he came on, but people will still say he cant pass the ball I look forward to him getting back to full match fitness.

Overall a decent display but our attack was nullified by a solid Madrid defense.

 

Ki and Hooper proved so many times that they are not players for european games.

Nonsense. Hooper is a big game player and that is something that he has proven many times. He would have had a goal tonight and possibly earned us a point, had the ball not took a little glance off of Stokes' arm.

 

How do you know these players are better? I wouldnt know. Let them prove themselves first.

 

Glad to see others are noticing this as well. He played very well tonight imo.

For them, Perea was excellent.

Mate you've got to be kidding. He looked out of place tonight.

Never known a keeper to inspire so little confidence. He makes the occassional good save but he is not good enough.

The day he becomes our most influential player is the day to give up. He adds little to the team in terms of quality and its a myth that he inspires others.

 

Your the one having a digg at everyones posts ... People were saying before the game started that the weather was going to favour us and atletico would struggle in the conditions ... They handled it better than us

It doesn't need to be proven. Loovens and Maj have * up more times than I remember and neither of these have two have put a foot wrong since signing for Celtic.

There can be no doubt as to who the majority of Celtic supporters would prefer seeing in the heart of defence right now.

To slate someones post is one thing but to insult somone because they dont agree with you is to say the very least childish.
To say the weather didnt help us in a country where the weather is on the most part at this time of year rain and wind is just stupid,if anything the other team should find the conditions harder to handle that celtic.
But you carry on looking for your little reasons why we lost other than we was not up to the tast yet again in defence.

Sorry mate but Kayal WAS by far the best player in a celtic jersey tonight he realised hes done wrong and played his heart out after his touch at one point in the second half was excellent getting stuck into every tackle. he gave alot . to be fair i was disappointed in our performace . we were beat at home by team lying 13th in la liga- altho athletico r a very talented side and will improve their la liga position no doubt in that.

 

Very difficult to pick a MOTM from that match. Madrid were by far the better team.

Samaras had a good first half.

 

Hopefully we can win the league and treble if lucky then get into the CL where we belong. Instead of buying players this january we should start selling. By the way what stage of the champions league are we in if we win the league?.
