To be fair, Northern Ireland fans seem to have really cleaned up their act in the last year or two. I know pleny of decent NI fans and you dont chose the place or culture you are born into. I wouldnt judge Ulster prods or NI fans in general on the worst bigots you see-many of them are fine people who are disgusted by the bigots. I dont think the Lenny treatment would happen now. It never happened before Lenny when we had NI players-Rogan, McNight in the 80 and 90s and Peacock in the more distant past etc. Lenny thing was a one-off. As for Healy as a player, its hard to judge but he scores a lot of real crackers and I think with a lot of good service in a dominant team like us he would score plenty in the SPL. Still, he isnt a dream signing. I could really see Rangers going for him if he was cheap.

Hun seems to mean different things to different people depending on how bigoted you are yourself.

    1. All Rangers fans
    2, bigoted Rangers fans
    3. all bigots
    4. all bigoted protestants
    5. all protestants

I would find 2 acceptable but not sure about the rest. If you use it for 5 you are a bigot yourself IMO. Not sure about the rest. Thats why I rarely use the term. I am going to make this a thread.

Sure Walter Smith was at Windsor last nite watching him.

Hes average at best and only turns it on in International Football if he was really that good he wouldn't be at a team who are last in the Championship and still cant get on.

I seem to remember Anton Rogan getting abuse, though that may have been because he was useless.:celt_2: Seriously I think he did get barracked cause of Celtic.

Healy seems like a bit of an enigma - does it for the siz counties but when it comes to Leeds he just not motivated at all. It may just be luck of coincidence, or the fact he is a big game player; in which case he would be suited to Glasgow Rangers. Despite that, although the rest of the SPL may be wary of a Boyd/Healy partnership, i don't think too many Celtic fans would be bothered!

Yep he did,he got dog's abuse. Don't see much evidence of the six counties team cleaning up their act at all tbh.The billy boys was given a rousing version last night and the usual Loyalist flags appeared.
Know a guy whose uncle runs a tourist bus company and after the Welsh
friendly in Feb his buses were attacked outside Windsor cos they have leprechauns painted on them.
The IFA protested to FIFA when Darren Gibson from Derry got a call up to our juniors reason cos he's not Irish apparently
They will always be the way they are

i like the guy and would much rather sign him than mcdonald. don't care where he comes from and whatever religion he is. he could wear a orange sash under his top if he wanted, as long as he did the business for celtic.

it was an exaggeration. am only saying we should only see this guy as a footballer and nothing else. i think he would be a good signing, much better than miller, beattie or mcdonald.

Lads honest to *.t'is a waste of time talking about it.There's as much chance of Johnny Adair leading out the Garda band during the All-Ireland final.
David Healy would never sign for Celtic

Saying that a striker is better than Miller is hardly a ringing endorsement. Any * striker is better than Miller. Jeeezus, I've got a better touch than that numpty.

The Lenny type incidents didn't happen in the past hmmm Alan Kernaghan and his family got all sorts of threats when he declared for Ireland over the 6 counties. Fact is now a lot of the best Irish talent in the 6 counties plays for Ireland and that has meant that the 6 counties team has actually become even more of a hun national team then it ever was and David Healy and his background is the perfect example.

And as for the 6 counties fans cleaning up their act. Hmm they must have forgot to leave behind all the loyalist flags and those friendly songs they are still singing must be me hearing things. The 6 counties have not cleaned up their act!

That will be the final piece in the peace process jigsaw. Just after Martin Maguiness condems popary, burns an effigy of Bendedict XVI and shouts 'never, never, never' at the next apprentice boys parade in 'London'derry. These things will happen. They have to as part of the agreed terms of the DUP-Sinn Fein talks to get the NI assembly up and running.
