Boy, how I'd love us to sign a new centre half, sell Ki, sell Samaras, and use the money on the likes of Henriksen and Rhodes.

    Make it happen, Lawwell!

I concur, why on earth would you say sell Samaras? Thought the Sammy hate from Celtic fans had died out ha.

He's not a first team player. It's always best to sell a player after he's had a 'good' season, as well.

Of course he is a first team player...

Very valuable for us, particularly for European games.

    Forster

    Matthews/Lustig, Rogne, Mulgrew, Izaguirre

    Wanyama
    Kayal, Ledley

    Henriksen/Commons
    Rhodes/Stokes, Hooper

Nah, don't see a place for him, if we qualify/improve. He's about as useful as Ki.

If you drop a striker/attacker from that team, as well, only one man is going in: Brown.

well, whether or not hes irst team is highly debatable atm, but id rather have Sammy, someone ho seems commited to the club, despite all the abuse hes had, than Rhodes who doesnt seem very enthusiastic about Celtics interest in him

i know Rhodes is a good striker, but i wouldnt swap him for Sammy, who wants to be here, and gives his all for us

You are talking nonsense. He made 37 appearances last season and the majority were from the start. In European games we will play a 4-3-3-/4-5-1 and Samaras will ALWAYS start in them. Forrest and Samaras wide supporting the main focal point (most likely Hooper). I don't care if you don't rate Samaras but to say he isn't a first team player is laughable. So many starts in games against the (former) huns and in Europe back me up. If Samaras is not a 1st team player then McCourt is an U17s player by comparison.

If we sold Ki and Samaras, we'd have the funds to sign them, I'd imagine.

If we play Samaras as the lead striker in Europe, we will not make any progress whatsoever. I wouldn't play him out wide, either. It would mean weakening the middle, which is just not smart.

Sammy is in front of Commons for a starting place at the moment imo.

Would love Rhodes to sign though.

    should watch another sport mate.
samaras is our most effective player in the final third when we come up against better sides, of that there is no doubt.he has shown this time and time again, and adding more and more experience in playing effectively in these situations
no forrest in the team?? again one of our best players in final third. one of our only players that shows good movement, is on his toes, has pace, can get us up the park and pick a pass into areas, and a threat if in on goal - must play.
how much do you know about henrikson, seriously? who is to say the boy is/will be any good and/or be used in the correct fashion.
Ki could be what we need to help us in europe as shown last year. he may well be sold if a high offer comes in but i really feel he could be the guy to help in the centre with kayal and wanyama around him to do more of the closing down and tackling which lets him pick up the ball when we get it. kayal and wanyama is our strength/power in there, but our lack of ball play will be shown up if we dont have a footballer in there too. ki's alert, fast across the ground good touch and can use the ball, and a small fact that he is about the only player we have that can strike a ball from distance. boy will be a star and tons of you's want shot of, really don't understand.

That's...nothing to do with your statement that Samaras isn't a first team player or do you now admit you were wrong? Also in a 4-3-3/4-5-1 it would look something like: Forster/Matthews, Rogne, Mulgrew, Izaguirre/Brown, Kayal, Ledley/Forrest, Samaras/Hooper so how would the middle be weakned with Brown, Kayal and Ledley in there? For the record I wouldn't play him as a lone striker either because that position should be filled already by the top quality striker we so desperately need.

Hooper is our most effective player in the final third. Samaras is totally incapable of any kind of attacking threat. He'll meander forward at his own pace, maybe beat a man, but that's it. He'll get fouled, we'll continue to huff and puff, and fail to make an impact on the score sheet.

I didn't pick Forrest because he's not a strong defensive option. I love him, but I'll pick Kayal, Wanyama and Ledley over him every time.

Commons is a must. If not, we should sign another playmaker. Samaras isn't it. Ki isn't.

Stokes and Hooper are brilliant, but should we really continue to to rely on them providing each other with goals, for another season? How many assists does Samaras provide? Or Ki? Very few, even in the SPL. How are they going to add more against better opposition?

Give me a break. I simply want someone who will make an impact for us. Rhodes is a good option, much like Henriksen. They're younger players, on the rise, and would command a higher transfer value, if we signed them, as well. Makes sense.

Eh, I'm not going to admit to being wrong, because it was a statement of preference, as I've reiterated on here many a time. I don't want him in our first team.
