Welcome to the forum lad:bbpd: I think your spot on, I believe we have no chance of landing him as Huddersfield will hold out for big money which they are entitled too or as you say hold on to him and try and push on to the Prem. Stranger things have happened but I would say our chance of getting him is somewhere between 2 and 8 % in other words * all chance.

    £8m?

    That is madness.

We could get a couple of players in for that cash, ones who are tried and tested.

    Next...........

Think it's time we accept we won't be able to get him. Should have tried in January instead of Brozek

I wouldnt risk £4million on him never mind £8million. He's not got enough ability to be going for that much. Hooper only cost around £2million and is much better than him.

Too expensive and not proven. It was never a starter.

Cheers mate. Hope you're right and hope Lenny is of the same opinion as you's guys that he isn't worth £8mill. The exact reason why we've valued him at that, to put off interest from the big boys like yourselves. We've got money so don't need to sell him and if he starts 30+ games for us next season he'll score 20+ i've no doubt of that (he'd score an absolute shed load if he played for Celtic). We had an incredibly average team last year which makes his 40 all the more impressive for me. If he had to go anywhere i'd love it if it was Celtic but hopefully he's off nowhere. I'm a bit surprised the huns haven't come in with an offer of a Kit-Kat and a can of fanta for him to be honest but that'd only cripple them even further i suppose.

They wanks haven't even got a Kit Kat and a fanta:icon_mrgreen: It all depends really on how ambitious your chairman is. If he is ambitious he keeps him if its the money he is after he sells, simply really. Its obvious the lad is goal scorer and has a big future ahead of him. Im not that bothered we wont get him as I dont believe he is worth risking 8 million on and we have Hooper and Stokes who are well capable IMO and of a similar level.

Our Chairman is a massive massive Town fan (he's an absolute legend down these parts) and everything he has done so far has been in the best interests of the club. He said in January we weren't gonna sell him in that transfer window and stuck to his word despite some decent offers coming in. He sold his company (Card Factory) for a reported £350mill a few years ago so money is not the object for him. Any other chairman and Rhodes would've gone by now i reckon.

I wasn't going on about a Kit Kat Chunky or anything special like that, i know that is a bit too expensive for a little 3rd division outfit like them but a normal kit-kat should be do-able surely!! :icon_mrgreen:

How has Arfield gotten on since his move down south TT?

Seen Huddersfield snapped up Dixon. Great full back at SPL level.

I reckon there's a really decent player in Scotty but we've only seen glimpses of it really. He started well but He's been messed about a bit, played in CM, at right back but mainly as a winger so he's never really settled in one position. He'll be on the bench for most of the season next year i think. I like the lad but can't really see him having a massive impact unfortunately.

Yeah really like the sound of Dixon, sounds to be quite attacking (our Right back got something like 13 assists last season so sounds like we'll be effectively playing with 4 wingers :icon_mrgreen:). We were crying out for a Left Back as well (had Calum Woods playing there last yr who we got from Dunfermline but not sure he'll be up to it in the championship)
Also got a young lad coming down from Falkirk called Murray Wallace who i've no idea about. I believe the deal is worth £700k in total so hopefuly he'll be a decent player (also signed Kallum Higginbotham off them last year as well). We seem to like popping up north for our players anyway!

Steven Pressley is an absolute * of a man but he has worked wonders for Falkirk's youth system. All of the players coming out of there are proper footballers, even the defenders are good on the ball. Wallace will do well if he progresses.

Why do people mention Brozek when they try to belittle Lenny or the club's dealings, he was a * short term loan deal who probably cost us about 50 grand ffs.

In no way whatsoever can he be compared to a promising young footballer who if we sign him will be on a permanent deal and for a * load more money than that!

    Rant over!
