To play like he did on that side of the pitch that looks like cabbage patch is testament to him.

He should be even better second half were the grass looks a bit greener.

Played well but he looks wasted out wide. Still would rather have him getting game time than not.

Hope Lenny give him a chance to show what he can do through the middle at some point.

I agree I hope Lenny gives him a chance in the middle must be hard for him playing right wing back as he hasn't played there before

He was decent. Tried to do a bit too much at times rather than play a simple pass.

Whats the script with him then?

Barely making a squad these days. Injured? Attitude problem? Or Lennon just not rate him?

At 20 I would have thought we would have seen far more of him. Hes touching that age now where hes no longer a kid and hes barely played a game.

If Lennon had no intention of playing him, then why not send him on loan? He would have broken through by now at any other team in the league so I doubt he would struggle for options.

It seems we only use loans for youngsters on the way out, where we should be sending the best prospects away at 18 to see how they cope rather than them stagnating for years, waiting on an injury crisis to get a sniff.

In coming weeks with several starters getting a break, I'd be disappointed and concerned for the lads future if he isn't making some starts.

Has only shown in glimpses what he should be doing on a regular basis. Definitely not an attitude thing he's a brand new guy with a real appreciation of being at Celtic, probably born from a similar thing as Mulgrew i.e. seeing it as his second chance.

Not sure the blame lies entirely with him though, following his injury against Madrid he simply hasn't had the opportunities in the first team he would need to bed in and improve. Hopefully we see a bit more of him in the next few weeks and hopefully he plays with the freedom he did in America.

That he hasn't been involved with the U-20s in the last few weeks even though he hasn't been on the bench for the first team would lead you to think he is injured.

Hopefully with a few of the 1st team players getting a rest of the next few weeks we'll see the wee man get a run of games.

Was speaking to him in the q-club on Sunday, him and his mates were out celebrating. Didn't look injured to me! :50:

Hopefully he gets a few runs out in these last few games.

Not had a run in the side, fingers crossed he gets a run this season, or loan him out to another SPL side the bhoy needs to be playing week in and week out

Give him the rest of the league season in a 3 man CM and let's see what he can do.

If he cuts the mustard then fine if not we can loan him out next season and get him some consistent game time.

Get him on for the remainder of the season. The problem for him, Twardzik and Rogic is that Lennon doesn't seem to use central attacking midfielders all that often: most of the time he has a ball-winning central midfield with wingers and strikers doing the attacking.

I'd like to see us go 4-2-3-1 in some games, with overlapping full-backs, and the two wider attacking mids cutting inside (like Commons tends to do anyway). That gives us a de-facto 3-man attacking midfield with two ball-winners in behind. Would be an excellent opportunity to slot one of our young CAMs in that hole behind the striker.

I like your thinking there. It would be good to see these guys prosper in the middle of the park - we tend to just stick the more skillfull players out wide and hope for the best. But a 4-2-3-1 or a 3-5-2 would allow us to use creative midfielders in the middle without having to sacrifice solidity/ball winning.

On the more general point, it depends who stays or goes before next season but I think the most important thing for McGeouch is that he gets games under his belt - it's the only way he'll improve. So loan him out for next season, hopefully he comes back ready to go straight into the 1st team.

Would love to see him playing in the remaining games think hes got a lot of potential just not had a decent run unfortunately but with the depth we have in our squad its always going to be hard for younger players

He should have been given more starts this season, especially in view of how poor some of our domestic form has been.

Play him in the hole behind the main striker, or behind a front two, and let's see how creative he can be. I think he's already good enough to be pretty effective in that position at SPL level.
