He kept the opposition on their toe's occasionally and made one decent run.

Technical abilities. Dribbling, touch, shooting, passing. Natural, *-given talent.

this is a hard one!! i'd have to go with samaras, reason being, you can see the ability he's got. o.k i get it that he rarely shows it. but mabye one day after a blow to the head, he'll turn it on week in and week out. or am i kidding myself ??

Yet you fail to give any names. You say "departments" which must mean you think there's a better dribbler than Paddy in the SPL?

Samaras couldn't score in a barrel of fannies, do you agree? I'd love to know why you defend such a flop so staunchly.

Are you speaking about McCourt ?

    a squad player at best.

I bet you were waxing lyrical about Samaras against Rangers last season.

Paddy's main talent is dribbling so he can have that if it makes you happy.

But Ki, Kayal, Izzy, Hooper, Forrest, Commons(at his best),
Ledley, Samaras(at his best), Stokes and then some huns players are better footballers.

McCourt has talent in short bursts though.

Thursday. If he gets a run of games we will see his best more often.

3 assists in 2 games is fantastic. I am sure Lennon will start him against Inverness.

If they were in a better position and I was going to lose the ball anyway, yes definitely and McCourt doesn't always.

It doesn't come off 90% of the time for him and it's not just that he doesn't pass often enough, he doesn't shoot often enough either. He is a great dribbler but even when he beats a player he often ends up having to beat him again because he takes too many touches and too long to do anything else. When he takes too long on the ball it gives the other teams defence time to get organised and he usually ends up either getting crowded out or passing it back in to midfield anyway.

If he got his head up and passed/shot/crossed more often, like he did for the goal yesterday I'd have him in the team but I wouldn't start him until he does that more often when he's a sub.

I think he's got too predictable and I doubt defenders * themselves from him now as much as they did a year or so ago.

Kayal, Emilo, Ledley, Hooper, Stokes, Forrest, Ki, Mulgrew, Matthews, Mcgregor, Jelavic, are all better at football than Paddy, and all player's id rather have in my team. They're all better in their respective positions than Paddy is in his, and they're all better at Football, and more viable for a team, making them better footballers.

Back to the question in hand, an inform Sammy is unstoppable, and he can play week in week out, and he is easier to fit in a system, but he's so inconstant, he'll need to perform for a long period of time, to gain our trust back, as for Mccourt, flashes of brilliance, needs to learn when to play the pass, and needs to find a role he can actually play in the team.

Based on Samaras' last two performances at left wing. Him. Offers height, pace and assists. Paddy needs a run of games as the Rennes game showed, he was off the pace. Understandable since it was his first start since January. One thing about Paddy is that if he runs onto a ball in the final third he is unstoppable. But for some reason at Celtic he is always standing still when he receives it, this takes a lot of the sting out of him.

On a side note, was never a Commons fan. He's doing everything he did at Forest and Derby, one good season then letting time pass him by.

to be the best player in the league you would need to

    1. Be able to get in the team

    2. Be able to play several games with sustaining injury

    3. Be able to look up and pass

    4. Have pace

    5. Be 2 footed.

Mccourt is an impact player and that is it, excellent player to have on the bench.
