Ledley is the our biggest team player in the squad. When he's in the middle of the park the amount of link up play and covering of other positions he does is astonishing.

I guarentee Izzy wouldn't have been player of the year last year without Ledley there covering for his runs.

Has this thread been made because you like ki over ledley? Or do you not like him? Ledley is the first midfielder on the team sheet without a doubt. A player that covers for the defence and the next minute he's giving you an extra attacking option. He always puts in 100% for the hoops.

Bit petty to make this thread. But I do get the point. As I said in the Ki thread we won and played well last night because the whole team that was picked decided to turn up... not because Ki was missing. Same with Ledley :50:

ledley is arguably our most important player. hasnt had a bad game since he signed for us, scored a few goals too. hasnt looked out of place playing away to some of europes biggest teams or when dominating at ibrox as part of a 10 man team. our strongest CM pairing is easily kayal and ledley.

Ki was playing when we humped the Huns 3 nil.
He was also playing when we passed them off the Park with 10 men.

I gt what ur saying op, I think Ledley is a decent solid player nothing more tho, heard some on here saying he would be first on the tea Sheet........
I think ki has more In his locker , would favour Ledley on the flank tho

People Change their mind so quickly on here tho, think there was a poll at the beginning of season where ki was everyones favourite between the two. Last season it was ledley. Just now it's probably Ledley! Think when ki
Hits form everyone will be hanging from his nuts again!

Midfield is the only position for Celtic that we shouldn't have any worries about.

I get the nature of the thread UncleHo. The fact is, Ledley is the better option in a two-man midfield, despite not being as good as Ki technically.

He gives more in terms of closing down and pressing opponents than Ki does.

The starting line-up against the Huns in the 3-0 game was

    Brown – Kayal – Ledley – Commons

Ledley is best suited as a CMF alongside Kayal as he provides plenty of cover for Commons and Izzagurrie who are by far are most potent attacking threat on the left hand side.

The fact Commons and Izzaguirre have hardly played there this season (through injury and suspension) is why we’ve been lacking such a spark.

To move Ledley elsewhere would be to upset the most effective balance we’ve had in MF for years.

There is simply no room for Ki - he may have greater technical ability than Ledley but it will not be utilised properly in this Celtic team.

Ki is a luxury player, nothing more.

Oh wait, Ledley has done so much than Ki this season right? He ran around like a workhorse he is and played consistently as he always does. But when Ki gives that extra bit of quality of touch and tempo he is a waster of space and "not a celtic player". Oh my bad i thought ive watched all Celtic games this season and clearly thought Ki has done a lot more than Ledley this season. People are confident to post out how Ledley was being "wasted" on the left mid whilst ignoring the fact that Ki was played nearly as a left wing forward in the last game he played. But wait Ki is a "shitebag" and Ledley is a * because he can run around a lot.

Man utd fans can appreciate both David Beckham and Park ji-sung at the same time but for some reason we cant. Astonishing.

Ki isn't a luxary player. Far from it, he is a skilled goalscoring, assisting midfielder who is young and still has stuff to add to his game. He is technically far superior to Ledley.

However Joe Ledley, can do things that Ki just can't. Ledley's positional awareness is the best I have seen at Celtic since Lennon and Lambert before him. He hardly ever loses the ball, he can score as much as Ki can and he is good in the air, strong in the tackle.

Both are very good players, I don't know why people need to put one down for the other.

Why do people feel the necessity to compare players? Ki and Ledley are both very good players in their own right.

Exactly my point. There is a clear difference between Park ji-sung and Lampard. Both are excellent players.

    NO!, absolutely not.

Ledley is our most important player imo, he does all the simple, dirty stuff really well and effectively. He also covers the left back position when the leftback is going forward, which is actually a really important thing to do.

He allows Kayal to go forward, and Kayal allows him to go forward, a great partnership they have. They've only played one half together in the middle this season as far as i can remember because Ledley ahs been sacrificed to accomodate Ki is not as good.

The half they played together was the second half at easter road, and we all know how well we played then.

With all due respect. Kayal has looked really bad in just about every game he has played so far this season.
