Just pointing out that its not uncommon to see players completely dropped as soon as someone better comes in

    Or is apparently better..............

Hes a new striker, why wouldnt people be excited about seeing him play? If he splits up the hoopr/stokes partnership then so be it.

I get what many are saying about breaking up Stooper, but, do we spend 2million quid for a bench player?

On what Henrik's says so ,Lennon will be a mug to break that partnership up for an unknown and untried player .

hooper was around 2.2m, stokes around 1.4 i think? all cost a few quid, one of thems going to have to do it. would you pick a team on value?

Nah mate. Just thought, in these uncertain financial times, thqat 2million quid was quite a lot. It seemed like Lennon was wanting a real bit of quality up front. He was ready to spend 4mil (paper quote?) on the other lad. Surely a 4mil player would have went straight in? Yet, once Bangura was over the line, we kinda backed off the other guy. I heard something about work permits though.

All in all, I do get the feeling NL wants to change things up front as we've been missing goals since the start of the season. Dundee Utd aside.

i wouldnt say he wants to change things. i'd say he wants quality options, theres no doubt that hooper and stokes are lethal together, that sort of partnership is hard to come by and if bangura can better than what we have now then happy days but i wouldnt go dropping them to accomodate bangura from the off.:50:

I'm reserving judgment on him until I've seen him play in the green and white Hoops. He does sound good though, natural goalscorer. Looking forward to his debut, hopefully this weekend.

i am looking forward to seeing him play just as much as the next person and hopes he has a successful time at the club, but i wouldnt start him against motherwell i would bring him on as a sub. He needs to settle and get used to the league first and not just thrown into it.

St.Johnstone displayed the limitations of a certain player, that game showed stokes limitations i think, when you can only play with a certain partner thats up to the player not his partner.

Stokes at celtic can only play with hooper, and from what i have seen of hooper as well he is no better with any other partner or even by himself. They can only play together and i think that is a limitation of the two players. A good player can play with any partner if they really put the work in.

I think he's trying to say there was try'd and tested on the park at St. Johnstone and still no goals.

    Was Hooper no injured?

Ah right got what you're meaning now.

I think I wouldn't put him on right away. I'd put him on the bench and then maybe bring him on for about the last 20 - 30 mins or so to see how he gets on.

Looking forward to see how he does but not an instant starter for me.
