He has more experience than the young players we already have, having already played 2 seasons worth of first team football between Vasalunds and AIK.

And what young players do we have that are better? Pray do tell...

And what is this opinion based on? Have you been watching AIK and also the Celtic youth/development team recently enough?

    That's enough, for now :icon_mrgreen:

Have to say though, I too am of the opinion that if he's good enough, he's old enough!

And if he's good enough, get him signed!!!

Centre backs at the moment :

    Loovens
    Majstorovic
    Mulgrew
    Rogne
    Toshney
    K.Wilson

    Centre back on loan :

    Hooiveld
    O'Dea
    Thompson

I wait your reactions on what we must do to reduce players at this position. Who must go away ? Who must stay at the club ?

    Loovens: not good enough
    Maj: not good enough
    Mulgrew: Quality.
    Rogne: Quality
Toshney: bit young, hasn't had a chance
Wilson: Looked good at the start, but had a stinker at Ibrox and looked shaky at Ross County.
    Hooiveld: hasn't had a chance
    O'Dea: not good enough
    Thompson: not good enough.

I don't think we've had a CB of real quality since McManus (who was terrific in Strachan's first/second seasons). Since then we've had Caldwell, Loovens, O'Dea, Thompson, and those listed above. We need to splash out on a CB of real quality. If we are in a good financial situation then what's stopping us spending £4m on a player?

Keep Wilson, Rogne, Mulgrew and O'Dea punt the rest and sign a good one at £2million+

In my opinion, we must keep :

    Mulgrew
    O'Dea
    Rogne
    Thompson
    K.Wilson

At this point, there is two solutions :

1 - Mulgrew goes behind Izaguirre on left and we buy a very good centre back :

    Matthews - K.Wilson - ??? - Izaguirre
    (M.Wilson) - (Rogne) - (O'Dea) - (Mulgrew)
    ((Thompson))

2 - Mulgrew stays centre back and a left back arrive to be behind Izaguirre :

    Matthews - K.Wilson - Mulgrew - Izaguirre
    (M.Wilson) - (Rogne) - (O'Dea) - (???)
    ((Thompson))

What do you think about it ?

I agree with this lad. In January I would sign an experienced CB and this young swede, and punt maj, loovens, o dea, hooiveld.

Look at the huns they signed that goian for 800k and he looks rock solid, so if we could do similar business then happy days.

He is a modern centraldefender, reads the play exellently and passes the ball really well. He is also strong and not afraid to tackle. Alex is a inteligent young lad who stands with both feet on the ground.
He´s not very experienced yet but selldom make any searious misstakes, he is very calm at the pitch.

I am sorry but it is that kind of now now now mentality which is dangerous to a club, we are building a strong base of very good and talented young players which is a good thing

Looks very good. Think I'd be right in saying he's played pretty much every match for AIK this year.

Thats correct my good man, our starting defender Per Karlsson was injured in one of the first games last season. Alex filled in and never gave the place back.

Alex is btw nominated as the best swedish defender by the swedish football association. with the likes of Olof Mellberg and Mikael Lustig...

Please funnyfaces.. Don't overrate Alex Milosevic.
He is really not that strong.
I would that he read the play very good and it's the best ability he have, he also have quite a good tackling foot. But I wouldn't give him a A+ in positioning. Actually his companion at the centreback, Niklas Backman has saved him alot of times when he have been in the wrong position.
Offensive Milosevic is one of the best central defenders we had in Sweden in a couple of years. His crosses is absolute magnificent.

I would say. If you need a talented centreback with lots of potential Milosevic is the right guy for you. He might have some problems with his positioning but its only his first year as a senior and positioning is really an experience thing.
Is he something for the starting eleven at Celtic right now? No.

Well i think that the people here understand that he isnt comparable with a worldclass defender. i have writen that he is very inexperienced but possesses some realy good qualitys and abilites.

I do belive that he reads the play very good but of course he has been helped by Backman, thats what defenders do...

If I have lead anyone to belive that he is as good as Nemanja Vidic then im sorry.
