FFS bit harsh some of the comments, this is only his 2nd full season & it's only October.

He's got years ahead of him & he will learn.

We need to also learn how to get the best from him, don't know if Lenny can help him there - like WGS did with McGeady.

He has pace & can shoot, his crossing is poor though.

He needs a lot of coaching, I just don't know if he'll get it at Celtic atm.

Forrest had a bad game but i don't think his ceiling is the SPL, he played pretty good against atletico madrid.

I wouldn't say that, he was terrific against Udinese.

:50: Also, when he got the ball against Madrid he definitely had the beating of their full-back but we didn't get the ball to him enough.

I remember that too, I'm sure he went past at least two or three of them against Madrid at one point, was terrific!

I've read (and probably posted) a fair amount of * in my time, but saying that takes nonsense to a whole new level!

    Are you being serious!?

Yeah Forrest was an obvious threat in the Madrid game, they started closing him down rapid with 2-3 men when he got the ball.

The problem partly last night was players being played out of position, some of our most influential players didn't get enough touches of the ball because they were out of position.

Ledley at left back-while he performed admirably you could tell he wasn't comfortable and we were getting run ragged at times down that side, yet credit to ledley never gave up and scored the crucial goal.

Forrest at left wing- playing on the side ledley was on meaning more often than not was covering the overlapping player rather than receiving the ball and trying to go forward to keep the opposing full back in his own half rather than in ours.

Ki at AMC or ST- didn't know where he was playing at times, seemed to switch from behind the striker to being a striker, not his position at all and like forrest didn't receive the ball enough to influence the game like we know he can, so i wouldn't put it down to forrests ability that he didn't perform well last night, tactics also played a part and lennon has this nack of playing players out of position and we expect them to perform as well as they would do in their natural position.

So by your logic anyone coming out of our academy is utter gash because they havent already been snapped up by an EPL team. This year alone our youth team has beaten both man citys and sunderlands and we also beat liverpools last year. Im sure forrest was offered contracts or trials with epl teams around the same time that we were offering him a professional contract but he chose to show some loyalty and sign with the team that developed him. Now his loyalty is being used as a stick to beat him with.

    truly a ridiculous post

First off we have lost one youth player to the EPL and he wasn't even the best player in his age group. Our youth system is the best in Britain at the minute proven by the fact we easily beat Man City's table topping under 19 side earlier this week. But in your opinion our bhoys must be of lower quality than Man City's because they dont play for an EPL team.

Secondly he is a winger, he usually beats his man to the outside and then crosses in, sounds like a winger to me. Many people are complaining about his crossing which I believe is totally unwarranted, his crosses are generally very good but nobody attacks them.

He is a young lad with a bucket load of potential IMO and playing him in the Europa league is only going to benefit him and us in the long run.

All this nonsense of he is better than this player and he not as good as that player is just a load of hypothetical mince.

He is Jamie Forrest and he will gain the experience he needs to show his full potential through matches like last night and I personally think the lad is going to be a very prolific figure for us in the years to come.:shamrock:

I like Forrest he will be very effective at SPL for years to come. Very much doubt he will play at a higher level though.

McGeady is on a whole different planet of technique and I doubt we will see someone like him through our youth set up for decades.

Last night was not the type of game for him. We faced difficulties in the final zone throughout our front-line. Stokes wasn't good, yet he receives commadations. What exactly did he do last night? Missed two glorious chances.

Jamesy wasn't involved, but that was mostly due to our midfield. No reason to slate the lad. He's one of our most gifted players at the club.
