    When a player like McFadden comes along it's hard to knock back alsy , experience , creative/match winner , spl/epl experience and still in his prime years . Yes he's been injured but there's no guarantee over any players fitness , take izzy for example out for 3 months last season and possibly 6 this season does that make him injury prone ?

    Regarding a centre back you know good players don't often appear on frees or out of contract hard enough to find one during the transfer window .

    He probes won't get a game, like bangura,kapo,ljungberg etc.. Yes banguras been here for a month or 2 but only started 1 game.

    Originally I was against this - and I don't mean the original time we were linked with him, as we've been linked every window since he started playing!

    Now, however I'm starting to warm to the idea - following a somewhat stringent medical of course.

    Why, I here you ask?

    He gives another option but he also reminds others that there is further competition. So hopefully some of those who's form, fitness, committment has been called into question will think; 'we've signed someone now? Clearly Lenny's done that because we've been on a poor run! I better get my finger out!!!'

    Or something along those lines! :icon_mrgreen:

    Either way, it can only be a good thing!

    Why not can not be any worse than what we have but why the * are we not sorting a defender out I mean come one have we not learned a thing from previous windows .
    We need a defender so let's sign a mid/striker

    i know that individuals are different....but remember how well we done with the hartson signing....and no club would touch big bad john with his dodgy knee.....i see a similarity with the mcfadden link. mon told john as long as his heart was beating he wanted him.....maybe faddy could do us a turn.

    You're right, the defence ought to have been sorted in the summer, but there's no point signing some average free agent - need to wait til January.

    A lot of people say he would be decent at CM, where hes played for NI before. Only problem is we have too may good CM's.
