4 wins in 11 games = not good enough .

The bottom line is he is failing, the board have not really backed him financially and tactically he has been unable to overcome that fact. The club is crying out for a veteran manager with an old head on his shoulders, that has been there done it and got the t-shirt. I don't know who that manager is but there is someone at Celtic getting paid 700 k a year to make those decisions, so far Mr Lawell is also waning. The board need to give lenny there full monetary backing or let him go.

well said the OP; by all means criticize NL on football issues if you want but some of the comments about neil have been downright hunnish in my book; folk going on about his "mental health" issues and suchlike. :nonono:

it just shows how fickle some of us are; on scottish cup final day NL was the man yet now he doesn't have a clue? on thursday nl got his tactics largely right v udinese yet by sunday he's clueless? he loses for the first time at ibrox in four visits yet he doesnt know how to beat rangers? some folk need to get a grip

as i keep saying, these people are quick to say sack him but to a man (and woman) they can never propose a realistic alternative other than MON which isn't going to happen.

things are bad at the minute, no doubt about it. but hasn't neil earned the right to at least attempt to turn things around? if neil walks, then fair enough the club will have to go out and find that man; but until then we need to stick with the team; we cant just turn our backs on them at the first sign of trouble; i really wonder how some folk on here would have handled the 9IAR years.

All the folk that are talking about earning respect are talking an absolute mountain of pish. Lennon earned the respect of the Celtic support the minute he started contending with the bigots in this sectarian backwater. The respect we have for Lennon is well earned.

Lennon the manager might not be up too much admittedly but he'll always have my respect for putting his life on the line for the Celtic cause, he's done a * of a lot more for that particular cause than most.

Comments telling him to get to * are typical of the new age support, and are a disgrace. You's may want him to leave his position as manager but telling him to get to * is not on.

LOL so I'm a new age supporter at 33? I've saw Celtic fail often enough in the past to know that if Lennon wasn't Lennon he'd be gone by now. At Glasgow Celtic it's success or GTF.

The fans will never turn on him or treat him with disrespect, he´s a legend but he is also not a good enough manager.

But did those guys go through a whole season losing only 4 league matches? Did they set an SPL record of least goals conceded? Did they have a very good old firm record? Did they live and breathe Celtic? Did they refuse to quit despite fearing for there life? And did they come in to replace a shambles of a manager in the time of huge up-heaval?

One or 2 may relate to some of the above... But I think Lennon has earnt respect after last season.

Can't believe people are being so fickle about backing Lenny. What happened to 'We are all Neli Lennon'? I still support Lennon. He is a rookie manager, who is having a rough patch. How about everyone get behind Lenny, instead of doing precisely what the 'meeja' want & the ferral mob in Govan would be doing.

Fair dinkum, a rough month or so & so many are turning their backs on Lennon. :31:

None of that matters when you end up second. Tommy Burns went a season losing only one game and still finished second, but looking at this season: We have lost 3 of 9 league games and only won 18 of 27 available points and are 3rd in the league. That's totally unacceptable for Glasgow Celtic.

Disrespecting a club legend is a trait of the new age fan so aye why not.

See this pish that gets repeated - "If Lennon wasn't Lennon he'd be gone by now" - it is a complete and utter myth.

When have Celtic ever sacked a manager who was a bawhair away from a treble in their first season ? And when have they ever sacked a manager at the beginning of October ?

I'm not expecting a sensible answer because as I said it is a myth that you are peddling.

Some will, in fact some already have sadly.

    A shocking state of affairs.

Wonder how many of these threads there were for Tony Mowbray or Gordon Strachan.

Rough month? More like rough 4 years. I've never bought in to the whole we are all Neil Lennon thing. In the minds of some fans the manager is now bigger than the club and are more Neil Lennon fans than Celtic fans. The club must and always come first.

Any manager, especially an inexperienced one, who guides a young team to 92 points in the league, runner-up in the league cup and winners of the cup deserves respect. The fact that the huns got one point more than us last year does not change that.

There is only one Neil Lennon.

He deserves every ounce of our respect.

If you are that thick you can't get your point across at being frustrated with him as our manager without resorting to personal insults then you shouldn't be commenting at all.

When have I ever insulted anyone personally? All I've ever said is a rookie should never been in charge of our club?

I think some supporters expected us to go the whole season with out losing,i agree losing to St Johnstone at home is unacceptable but losing at Tynecastle and Ibrox is always likely to happen NO MATTER who the manager is.The huns have yet to visit Tynecastle and going by the way Hearts nearly beat them at Ibrox, they'll be lucky to come away there with points.Get behind the manager and lets go on a run like we know we can.

So the Seville season meant nothing because we won nothing? Yes NOTHING. We won less in the Seville season than last season.

Just to point how ridiculous your argument is, not to undervalue MoN's accomplishments.
