If you had to give Neil Lennon advice to get Celtic winning again what would it be ?

i would say !

The team always has to defend like a team and that means when we havent the ball we defend from the front

We are Celtic and should be able to play our football around a physical hearts or any other side in the SPL

and like the great Beastie Boys song goes You have to fight for the right to party

What advice would you guys give ?

Lets keep it a positive thread guys, there's too much negativity in here

The job is too big for you and your wilting under the pressure of having to win the League.

Btw , negativity is a certainty for a club who has only won 4 of last 11 .

 

Make sure that the players do not drop in performance when 2. half of any game starts. Threaten them with a boot in the *, if necessary.

 

Play hoops and stokes. Warn hooper that he has 1 game to get his finger out or he is dropped. Show Samaras the door. Drop Maj. Kayal 1st choice captain.
Double training sessions. Forrest and Matthews focus on crossing the ball (with Thompson). Ditch zonal marking. Ban socialising in nightclubs. Tell the board they are a shower of penny pinching *.
Instruct players to close down opposition immediatley when they dont have the ball no matter where they are on the pitch. close down high up the pitch and dont give them a second to breathe.
Look to the U19's. Their are some talented hungry players in there so why not give them a shot. Especially in europe and cup games. Give Paddy McCourt a rare start.
Some serious set piece training too. Both defensive and offensive.
Give them £500 a week for the meantime and tell them if they want their ridiculous wages back then they had better prove why they are such superstars to deserve them.
We dont need millionaires we need hard grafting footballers.
Truth is none of us know what to do or where its going wrong because we cat see behind closed doors.

 

Stop playing Majstorovic for starters but there are many more changes needed which involve signing new players in January.

Too many Neil fans are blinkered!

 

Be ruthless and dont try to be popular or loved by the players but rather command their respect. Dont socialise with them or be seen to be getting sloshed on nights out. I learned early on in managment that you cant be one of the boys and made an * of myself a few times. I now dont go for drinks etc after work as I realise this is their time to talk shop and no doubt slag me off . Don't have favourites and treat everyone the same [ that is the really hard bit cos some people just naturally * you off with their attitude. Drop those that aren't performing [not sure about this one as mccoist stuck with edu and he has come good]dont be too proud to seek help and advice from others with more experience {MON WGS etc}try "visualisation training " with strikers etc its scientifically proven to improve golfers performance so who knows it might work with players . Dont slate players in the media and most of all remeber its only a job nothing is more important than your family and your health. I

 

Its not about being a 'Neil fan' Its about whats best for Celtic.You reckon by sacking Neil,Johan,Alan and Gary at this stage in the season is going to solve all our problems?The players are just not performing at the moment,they'll get it together soon hopefully.Having our best players out injured or picking up knocks certainly hasn't helped matters either.Its way too early to be calling for any ones head.

 

Start Stokes & Hooper together for EVERY game and don't have 2 out and out wingers it pulls the centre mids out of shape and exposes the defence.

 

Keep an offensive starting 11 and an offensive attitude. Play Bangura hooper and stokes together. And listen to critiscism, dont be so darn stubborn

 

Get a mentor,this should have happened from day one.A rookie manager is going to make mistakes,its the only way they can learn,a mentor would have lessened these mistakes considerably.

 

Stop changing the team around all the time. Why start Zaluska for Udinesse and drop him against Hearts, Commons not even in the squad and starts the following week.
Dont be so stubborn, and get rid of that waist of space sammy and a few more loovens, maj, and tell the board not to be so miserable and offer some decent money for players.

Worst advice ever! Are you 6 or 7 years old? Do you really think that is good management? If your boss told you that he would kick your * if you did bad, would you be able to perform your best? Maybe for the following week you would. But if your boss kept * yelling at you like that every week for years, what would you do? You would start giving a *. You would start looking for a new job somewhere else. Which is just what´s happening here at Celtic. Have a read on basic psychology and you will find that people perform their best when they feel comfortable in a good environment.

Lennon should actually do the opposite of what you suggest: start showing his players that he has faith in them. He should pick his 11 favorites, tell them that they have his trust, and stand up for the players no matter what. That is the only way to build and sustain a winning team. He needs to be on team with our team, not against them! Any good leader would know that.

 

whats you opinions on the midfield yesterday ?

should we have played 2 wingers ?

thats where i thought hearts had their tactics spot on

by hearts playing 5 man midfield with 3cm we weren't able to dominate and that led to us having limited chances and them having a solid look about them
Then when they got the 1st goal it was looking near impossible for us

wrong tactics again for me

dont get me wrong had we got the 1st goal i think we would have went on and scored a few more

but hearts played the percentages yesterday and made the game as even a contest as possible for themselves
