    First of all try playing football manager games with someone else buying you players you don't want. Give you a hint, it suddenly turns an awesome game *

    Secondly most voicing the those backing the board don't understand the point that Matt McGlone originally made. That, even if Lennon is making bad decisions, this appointment will be the 2nd time the board have screwed up the selection(Also the pash poor backing of Strachan during his last window and its not as if he splashed the cash ffs) and not been able to take advantage of rankers even when they are on their knees.
    Who's fault is that? You cannot say its Lennon's.

    So the situation does not fall squarely on Lennon's shoulders as some are suggesting and its a farce to suggest it.

    If he has been getting players pushed on him by Lawell then that's a farce as well. We all commend Stein for fighting for the right to pick the players he wanted yet if true, do not afford Lennon the same courtesy. Its a travesty and whoever has greedily taken the power knowingly or otherwise should walk, not Lennon.

    I always thought something was amiss when a * load of players walked in on trial and a * load of players walked out all saying they were not wanted. It is my opinion that either Lennon didn't want them or Lawell couldn't sign them. In that situation it is clear who the incompetent.

    Therefore I say its either a new manager and some fresh faces on the board or some fresh faces on the board.

    P.S. anyone looking for a sign of strain watch his post match interview on BBC
    'change of personnel'. Got a funny feeling this guy is spot on and it is a statement of intent to Lawell. You or me.

    P.S.S. anyone not find it hilariously frustrating Lawell went to Manchester with a shopping list that looked like this;

    Players

    1x Craig Bellamy
    1x Shay Given

    And came back with a receipt that looked like this;

    PLayers

    * ALL

    Cool media stunts

    1x youth links in favour of Man City

    The transfer dealings over the summer were a disgrace but, the fact is, lenny still has the strongest squad in the spl and isnt getting anything like the best out of it just now.

    On what basis do you figure we have the strongest squad because its clearly not the case ?

    You can debate whether we are stronger than the huns or not but we definitely have a better squad than the wee huns, st johnstone and motherwell.

    Some people truly have blinkers on when it comes to the board and Lawwell - no matter what happens they are neevr to blame cos the debts down. Put it this way, in January 09' Hibs rejected a 3mil offer for Fletcher from Bolton a week before the window shut. The following week Lawwell decided to offer 2.5mil, clearly knowing it wouldn't be accepted but would look as if they tried. At this point we were top of the league but clearly needed a striker to maintain said position. Rangers were on their knees, one crushing blow away from having to sell their best players, which has since been admitted by them. it would ave guaranteed us Champions League football the following season, thus recouping any possible expenditure on Fletcher, who would have scored goals - Fact. Ticket sales were at their highest ever in Strachans final season (around 54,900) - they significantly dropped the following season, and its clear to see that this is down to not winning the title, as well as other factors. Again more lost revenue. With the huns weaker than ever before, had we taken the gamble and signed Fletcher, then we would have easily won each title since and, therefore entry to Champions League and then the following season the qualifiers. So right away, (and it is all hypothetical but what isn't in football?) you could argue that by not signing Fletcher, by not specualting in order to accumulate, by not taking a * risk for once, it has cost us upwards of 25mil in recent seasons. It showed an amazing lack of foresight on the boards part.

    Im not one of these fans who expects us to spend millions and rack up debt, and we did have to reduce our expenditure post-Seville but, as was seen with the comparison to Porto, was it necessary that we fall away so much and in such a short time? Lawwell is good on the financial side but my * has our team declined ever since he came in.

    Lennon is tactically naive, agreed and he makes some awful decisions but he is there as manager not on merit, but because he was the cheapest option available at the time. Thats not Lennons fault and the fact that there isn't even someone there with experience to help out is laughable - for godsake one of our backroom staff quit his job as a painter and decorator to come here - sums it up really.

    Yesterday our defence was Matthews (Free transfer), Maj (Free transfer) Mulgrew (Free transfer) El Kaddouri (Loan) and Forster (Loan and pish) - says it all if you ask me. John Park clearly has a good eye for a player when picking up the likes of Izzy, Kayal, Hooper, Ledley etc so surely, if the money was available, he'd be able to sign a defender or 2 with reasonable quality, just like the huns have been able to for the past 5 years running.

    Lennon, Lawwell, the Board and the Chairman all need to take a right good look at themselves and how the club is ran.

    Great post!!! The keeper and defence situation is a joke really. We were crying out for this to be sorted and nothing was done about it. We also refused to pay was it 1million for James McCarthy who is doing very well with Wigan because the board wanted him on the cheap.
    We payed money for Juarez, Ras and a few more who are now gone and never got a look in on our team. What ever is going on with the board Lennon etc would want to be sorted fast or things wil only get worse.
    All we here about is how much the huns r in debt but at the end of the day they are the ones winning and we keep * up.

    Good Post mate - You havent the green specs on like a few on here.

    You Missed out the boards "Hollywood" signing Badge Kisser Keane....We Needed 2 defenders and on the last few mins of the transfer Paul Daniels aka Peter the comedian from another universe parades keane to the waiting GULLIBLE fans of ours outside parkhead at Midnight - That was a FAILURE too. (Give the board & Mowbray Breathing space) £65k a week to score against the mighty falkirk and st Mirren...big woweeee eh. Celtic stumbling along from one crisis to another we are a LAUGHING stock just now.

    Excellent posts all round!!!

    Reading Mr McGlone's article it's pretty obvious that Peter Lawwell holds all the aces and is in virtual control of the club. Little wonder then that we are in such turmoil! It appears he's become a bit of a dictator, and has far too much power.

    For his own sake, and his health, it is time that Neil Lennon walks away from the club and speaks out. Doubtless they will try to buy his silence, but it surely in his own interest, and the supporters interests, that he tells us all what is exactly going on, at CP.

    Balance sheets have become more important than the actual team - time this was stopped and priority given to the playing staff. Where are the millions brought in from the sale of McGeady and Boruc for instance?

    Great post mate. In addition i think the players need to stand up and show some balls. Even though we know a lot of them are not Celtic class, they should realise that the fans will at least respect them if they bust a gut for the team. Sick of hearing the club coming out and asking for the fans backing when the players arent doing anything in return. Look at the fans at the last game of last season when our dreams were shattered, look at them the past few weeks after a hammering by the huns, * brilliant backing. Now give us something in return, or at least * try. You are lucky to have us. Make us feel lucky to have you.

    I think we should sack the board to be honest. We will probably need to force them out eventually.

    Lot of pish IMO.

    Doesn't mention Lennon's team selections or tactics...playing Madge or Glenda or Sammy all too often.

    Breaking up winning teams.

    Signing Europa inelligible LB's, playing them in the SPL then moaning about not having a consistent back 4.

    Breaking up Stooper.

    There's a lot for Lawell to take for the state of the Club yes...

    But the Manager has to take responsibility.

    Bit of both IMO.

    The huns net spend over the past few years has been higher than ours.
