I doubt he was genuinely interested tbh.

The bolded part is where your call for Mark Hughes falls down. "If".......

I'm not sure what you are getting at?

Me highlighting the fact he is a Celtic supporter has nothing to do with my reasons for wanting him. It was just to show that he would under normal circumstances walk up the motorway to manage Celtic.

I find it ironic that this site has, "We stand behind our leader" at the top of every page and that people with Lennon profile pictures are wanting him out.

The league isn't lost yet and as long as that is true Lennon has a job.

    Quadruple is still on :86:

Well Owen Coyle didn't walk up the motorway the last time we asked him.

Anybody fancy Roy Keane as manager ?

Im not saying he would be a bad appointment, just we got stung with Mowbray who has a similar CV. I think Lennon deserves a little more time and if we are going to get another manager in then it has to be the right appt. It may be that we should look for our next appt for someone a little older and perhaps not as close to the club.

Which is my point :56:There were circumstances, most probably the fact he was told his transfer budget and baulked at it.

Keane would be a backwards step and a massive one at that.

Another few names to add to the hat:
Roberto Di Matteo (Chelsea Assistant) Possible link up with Willie McStay
    Mark Hughes (No club)

It'll be a sad day if Roy Keane ever finds himself in the manager's chair at Celtic.

    Why ?

Roy Keane has real time managerial experience. He knows what Celtic are all about. Roy Keane has been a MASSIVE TIM all his life. He would galvanize the Celtic support and put bums on seats.

Roy Keane would fit in better at rangers.
Would hate to have a scumbag in charge at Parkhead.

Roy Keane is an absolute failure as a manager. Spends millions, buys dross and achieves nothing.

Wouldn't want him anywhere near the managers job. Your reasoning is crazy.

I think i have every right to be displeased about the current start to the season from celtic, i don't think he should be sacked, but by the january transfer window i hope to * we are still within touching distance to the huns, by that i mean 6 points, because by then there will be 2 old firm games to go and i honestly cannot see them dropping a lot of points to the other teams and i can still see us dropping stupid silly points away from home.

Once we get our reasonable starting 11 back to full strength we need to keep the same starting 11 consistently for months to get some continuity changing 1/2 players for injuries / tactics whatever, what has kept celtic from doing well is injuries to some key players and inconsistency from players coming in one week then out the next. Its as if lennon still doesn't know his best team for each occasion and its starting to really tell.

Hardly a failure when you compare him with Lennon what he done exactly.

But i feel it would be the wrong move again from the board we need to stay away from all this needs to be connected to Celtic either as a ex player or fan.

You'll struggle to find a bigger Celtic man than Lenny and he's not doing the business currently so Keane being a Tim doesn't matter.

Keane spent millions at Sunderland and ultimately failed in the EPL, and he didn't exactly set the heather alight at Ipswich.

His signing record is poor, his man management skills leave a lot to be desired, and he isn't the answer.

Went to Sunderland and spent an absolute fortune on rubbish that wouldn't have been good enough for a Championship side. Then went to Ipswich and did the exact same thing, failing to win a league match in 14 games at the start of last season.

Ferguson has went from wanting him to succeed him as manager to pretty much slating him as a complete flash in the pan as it comes to management.

Can't help but think if Lenny invested in some decent centre halves then we wouldn't be in this position. We sign most of our defenders on free transfers and it shows that you get what you pay for.
