Calibre ? What *' calibre has Craig Levein got ?

I understand where you are coming from on Lennon Doc but your obsession with Craig Levein is astounding.

I have been a backer of Lennon since day one and will continue to give my full support as long as he is Manager. I know that others want him out which is understandable in light of recent results, however anyone who thinks Craig Levein or Owen Coyle could do any better with the budget we are afforded is way off the mark.

If there is to be a change of management a the Club I think we would just end up going down the same road again only with different faces, the real change this Club needs is at boardroom level and until that happens we may as well get used to being second best.

Xmas is the time to revisit this, unless there is a total collapse in the next couple of games. At Xmas if we have not pulled it back then there will be serious questions asked. A new manager to come in now wouldnt make sense. We have been unfortunate with injuries, but hopefully Kayal and Ledley will be back soon. At Xmas we may also have Izzy back.

Today was a bad day, no doubt, it will tell us the real character of the team and the management in the next few weeks.

No; Mowbray got sacked for getting our * handed to us by St. Mirren.

If it had been just 1-0 that night rather than a resounding 4-0 hammering then he would have survived a tad longer, IMO.

Exactly. Our season turned around last season on January 2nd, beating the huns 2-0. We need a big performance and players to step up like that again to reignite our season.

Who ? You mean Craig Levein ?
Of course Craig Levein would do a great job with Celtic, he should have got the job the last time. His tactical nous and track record of getting the best out of players wherever he has gone has been astounding, and Levein contrary to what some on here think, is doing a great job with Scotland too.

It's a No Brainer. Get Craig Levein in now and start the Celtic fight back :50:

    Agree with this 100%.

Lennon should get till Christmas, and the derby game.

If we're still well adrift by then, then it may be time for a change.

I ask this in all sincerity is there a potential replacement for Lennon you would like to see at CP who is not Scottish?

I do notice on other forums that Lenny is not getting it so tight. My feeling remain the same. Either he or John Park can spot a good player but Lenny is tactically useless. There have been bad injury problems but the bottom line for me is Lennys side have only been convincing for one 3 month period in the last season and a half. We also look like a team designed for Europe and not winter in the SPL and I think our game of trying to play wee one-twos along the deck will suffer as the pitches cut up. I honestly think Lenny has a touch of the Moggas about him and wants us to play a specific type of football. Another thing is we no longer bombard the other teams box and grab last second goals etc like we used to when the chips were down. I think that is because we can only play one way.

Think i'm inclined to agree. Christmas should be viewed as Lenny's appraisal period. However, if we are still in the * at that point, he HAS to go - no questions asked. It would also allow a potential replacement time to plan for the January transfer window. Either way, the next 12 weeks are crucial for him.

If I were PL and DD, I would start drafting cost evaluations for new managers (privately of course!) just in case.

So you don't think we got our * felt by Ross County, St Johnstone, and let's face it, that wasn't a very good Heart's team out there today by any stretch of the imagination. Don't forget the three home draws last year to rubbish teams that ultimately cost us the league last year, not Inverness Caley.

    Strange question.

But seeing you asked, of course there is. But can we afford them, that is the 64 dollar question ? Levein wouldn't cost much by today's standards. Not much at all.

    Is Owen Coyle Scottish ?

    True.

Sometimes it feels like it's "WE ARE ALL NEIL LENNON (as long as we're winning)"

I think Neil Lennon has two major flaws as manager:

1)He does not know tactics. He is all about spirit and drive, but other than that, he has no philosophy on how to play football, whatsoever. Dont get me wrong, spirit is important to win games, but it is not as if the difference between us and Barcelona/Chelsea/ManU is lack of spirit! So if the team looses, he gets mad at the players for not fighting hard enough, and radically change the team around before the next game. This leads me to my secound point:

    2) He does not offer our players the stability and safety that they seek in a manager. He way to often blames players for their mistakes. He names names. That is an aweful skill as a leader. No good leader, not in business, nor in football would ever do that. Have you ever seen SAF or Kenny Daglish name names to the press? No. They always take whatever blame that needs to be taken and do their outmost to protect their players. I think a lot of the problems that we've seen in central defence are a result to the fact that Lennon has not given any of our CBs his full support. Its always been: 1 bad game - stands next. That is not the way to build confidence.

Bottom line is, he is not getting the best out of our players.

To be fair I think I may have got your posts confused with Gunts earlier where he was calling for the appointment for Craig Brown.

Still I just dont think Levein is the answer. I dont know what is, I just hope Lennon can turn it around. I love the guy and like many I want him to do well (for himself not just the club).

Winning the scottish cup and finishing one point behind a Rangers side that gathered one of their high points totals in years, yes ok then, it's a sad state of affairs when that becomes a sackable offense.

Not saying I'm not concerned with the way things are going at the moment, but other than the actual winning of the league, for a new manager with an almost entirely new team last year was overall a very positive season.
