Constantin has said that for the last TWO European ties.

If you ask me, Sion will be reinstated to EL next week. Never thought Sion could make it back in, but from what I read in the Swiss media the last couple of days, this might well happen now. Supposedly, Sion's missed games against Atletico and Udinese will be played in winter 2012. Unfortunately, no one said anything about a group of 5 teams...

To be honest if you were to get re-instated they would have done it prior to the competition. As for playing these games next year I doubt it, what if the two teams are already playing in Europe at this time.

No WAY will they be reinstated. How can they be?? The group is almost halfway done for a start. So what - they would just be put in and take OUR scoring and points tally for what's happened so far?

And IF they were reinstated and they played the games that they missed in winter, that means that Madrid and Udinese would have played at least 7 games in total (8 if you count them playing home AND away) because they would have already played us. This would ALSO delay the group as well because the group stages would normally be done before winter gets going.

It's just turned into a complete and utter farce now and I think Constantin should be charged by UEFA for wasting the courts time as well as UEFA's time in this matter because he has been told * knows how many times that they are not getting in.

To reinstate them would make a total mockery of UEFA's own rulings as well and they won't do that.

Agree. This would be impossible and could lead to Udinese, Rennes or Athletico suing UEFA. Say Udinese miss out on qualification as they dropped points against Celtic but they consider Rennes got 2 easier games against Sion? Or Rennes get beat twice by Sion so point to the fact Udinese got the easier game against us? Even if they are entered into the group as a 5th team, the other teams could refuse to play the extra games involved, and they wouldnt likely have to delay the next round.

Not going to happen. Sion will ask to be reinstated so when it is again rejected they can sue UEFA for loss of earnings.

I'm not sure which is the silliest.

The idea that Sion might get reinstated, or the idea they'll be playing their group games after the tournament has ended.

Here's my prediction. They won't be playing Atletico. They won't be playing Udinese. They won't be in the tournament. Simples. :50:

I´ll just quote myself from what I was posting in the general EL thread:

This decision was taken by the Vaud Court, so a "minor" Swiss Local Court (called "mickey mouse court" in previous posts and somewhat rightly so). This decision is subject to be possibly tackled by a Swiss Supreme Court if UEFA fancy and call that one into action, which is what I´d pretty much expect...)

Anyway, it was reported here in Luxbg that IF that decision will stand, Sion will be reintegrated into group I (our group) BUT will play their games from mid December to February...

Yeah, I'd be happy to let them back in now. The Europa league is * and doing us no favours at all.

The * said the same thing before the Atletico match and before the Udinese match. We're still waiting on the Sion plane to arrive in Madrid as apparently they were going to turn up at the stadium regardless. Deluded *.

    Hello again

My opinion on this (maybe some want to know)...

    1. Don't listen to what Constantin says. As some of you said, he's a media-obsessed nutter. He just says what the press wants to hear. Maybe it's also tactics to put UEFA under pressure in view of a possible financial compensation.

    2. Of course, the whole thing can still be overruled. But at the moment, it definitely looks like we have a strong case. You can read the verdict (in French, not sure if Google translate is good enough) here: http://www.findinfo-tc.vd.ch/justice/findinfo-pub/internet/search/result.jsp?path=CCIV/MP/20110928112156422_e.html&title=MP%20/%202011%20/%2022&dossier.id=2880920&lines=7 Basically, UEFA did just everything wrong, from A to Z. It's incredible how *-like they acted in the whole story. It's definitely not our fault if FIFA and the Swiss FA were too stupid to interpret a CAS verdict correctly. It is also not our fault if UEFA stick their nose in parts where they simply have no say like the qualification of players for example. (These are only two points of the verdict)

    3. It is definitely no Mickey mouse court which decided here. The next step would already be the Supreme Court and I assume that they will confirm the Cantonal Court of Vaud's decision. Some geography remark: Vaud is were UEFA are based, Sion are based in Valais.

    4. I still don't think that we are getting reinstated. And if we were, I couldn't imagine UEFA to boot Celtic out as they did nothing wrong. It would rather be a group of five then, but I doubt this to happen as well. The measures taken by the court are still provisional, so the court does not have many possibilities to sanction UEFA harshly. UEFA will continue to break the law, ignore the court and pay some fine. However, if we were re-instated and could play the games in winter, I would travel to all the away games and it would be one of the greatest adventures as a football supporter in my life (hope dreaming is allowed in here;))

If hypothetically sion were allowed back into the group as a group of 5, would 2 teams go through or more. I would think that the other clubs in the group would not be happy about playing 2 further games at christmas time.
