If used properly, yes. Can't expect him to be as mobile as Brown or Bitton but he definitely has something to offer.

I don't agree with it, per se, however Ambrose has had more standout performances than Mulgrew since then.

He's also * up more than Mulgrew has. Ambrose should be nowhere near a football club of our size.

Since the last 16? Nah, Mulgrew was a stand out for us in the Champions League the following year. See his performance after Broony got sent off for kicking Neymar? He held his own in there against the best midfielders in the world.

I find it disappointing how quickly people have turned on him. First he was useless, then he was next Captain material and now he is back to useless.Give the guy a break. He is still young(relatively) and needs a sustained period in a settled position.

    I agree.

    Neither are good enough.

I forgot about his antics of walking off the park last time he was played as well!

Dont care for his excuses, he is the only player I have seen that made it look like he took the huff and simply walked off the park and down the tunnel.
Seen other players injured and need to come off late in a game with no substitute, but never have I seen it done with such disinterest and disrespect before.

Bever expected him to admit it, expected him to deny it anyway, but it looks that way. And he generally is a player past his best.
Bet it his age (not old) or the fact he has been shifted around positions so much, just does not cut it.

Yes and the last 3/4 months of injury has been clearly just to cover up the fact he walked off the pitch in a huff eh.

    People need to wise up.

    Aye, i needed a quick edit there.:smiley-laughing002:

*, how time flies! Yes he is 29, but he has been very unlucky and sometimes when players lose a lot of time in the mid career, they may add a few years on to the latter part.

Anyway, i still like him and he needs a sustained period to get his form back.:fear:

There is no way Mulgrew should be offered a new contract.

I think he should've been out the door a long time ago.

I disagree, I think Ambrose is nowhere near good enough, but Mulgrew is a competent squad player to have in our ranks.

    * *, are people still peddling this *? I assumed sense had been seen long ago on this issue?

Think the stick he's getting is over the top. Always going to be difficult for a player to have a good run of form when they've suffered with injuries consistently.

I think when he's fit and sharp he's a very decent centre midfielder for us, he's shown that in Europe and in International games as well. Not to mention he is one of the very few experienced players/characters we have in the squad at the moment. It would make no sense to me not to give him a new contract, even if he were to be a back up/utility player for the rest of his time here.

Wouldn't say he is first name on the team sheet but he should be offered a new deal.

If he manages to put in some good performances between now and June, then I'd offer him a new deal. Wouldn't want a player tied up on a contract if his injury problems are going to pop up again.

I think Chuck has more to offer this squad. He is more of a leader than most of them Bhoys at the moment. And I will reserve judgement on wether he deserves a first team berth after he has got up to speed again.

Let him go and he'll end up back Aberdeen. Would be a great signing for them and playing regularly could hurt us.

will be glad to see the back of him this summer if he goes, frustrating and should have been tasered as soon as he crossed the halfway line in games he played. absolutey NOT a midfielder, got the brain of a goldfish after a stroke.
