    Hear hear.
Lets not accept second best though.Milan were there for the taking and with a little bit more quality/urgency we could have won.
Hopefully next year we will push on again.I have faith in WGS and the lads.
    Hail Hail

As far as I can see he didn't mention a huge increase in quality once ya *. With a capable strike partner for Jan, a more experienced McGeady plus a new midfielder to replace Lennon there's absolutely no doubt our side will have more quality. Negative * like you can get to * as far as i'm concerned.

This is very much an evolving team and it is all about progress. WGS has been there for nearly two years and has reduced the average age by about ten years. He has progressed us beyond belief in the SPL. He has taken us to the last sixteen for the first time ever and gave us respectability against a very good Milan team. With new signings in the close season who is to say we won't progress again next year. I see only good times ahead but let us take it one step at a time. Let us not get negative when we are on the threshold of greatness.

Yeah I disagree with you because what you typed was utter bolocks. You put words into the mouth of the poster you quoted and have made an utter fool of yourself.

As for the language, I presumed the website had a swear filter enabled and would mean my comments didn't come across quite as severe. Apologies.

We need to be realstic about some of our players limitations. McGeady was easily matched for pace by all Milan defenders including a 39 year old Maldini. Lennon - the game just whizzes past him. Telfers crossing was poor and he didnt get tight on his man all night. Milan were first to the loose balls all night and were very aggressive with their pressing game. The exact game we should have played. It was also shocking to see how often Milan played right through Sno and Lennon with one pass. Sno often just stood and ball watched. Also under pressure our first touch was often abysmal. I think some of the assessments of the team are a bit over the top. The statistics tell the story.

While im definetly not saying we were crap it hurts me to see so many people applauding defeat. Its a negative attitude that shouldnt be fostered. We should learn from it and look at PSV as an example of what is achievable. I just feel that the team were trying not to lose the game and forgeting that we also had to win it.

Very true.I love the effort and commitment our boys put in tonight but obviously some of them are not up to this level. The thing we need to do IMO is take clubs like PSV/Lyon as inspiration and learn from how they have approached the CL.
While I am very proud of what we have done in the past few years,I believe that Celtic Football Club should now push on and regain its place as one of the foremost clubs challenging in the CL every year.We beat Liverpool a few years ago in the UEFA Cup.They went on to win the CL two years later. They are not a million miles away from us IMHO.
Like I said in a previous post tonight-I am very proud, but lets not settle for secnd best.I know WGS wont so onwards and upwards Celts!
    Lets beat those hun *.:celt_2:

I don't think PSV are better than us

I am certain we would have knocked them out, on tonight's
    sterling performance in Milan..

Thats not the issue. The FACT is that we are a bigger club that them, so we should be able to match and possibly beat their achievemnts of reaching quarter finals in the future.

PSV are NOT better than us-FACT.
PSV dont have a better team than us(IMHO)-FACT.
PSV dont have a better coach than us-FACT.
PSV are NOT a bigger club than us-FACT.
PSV dont have a worldwide fanbase as big as ours-FACT.
PSV dont have better facilities than us anymore-FACT.
PSV will not earn more money than us this year-FACT.
PSV SHOULD NOT better our finishing position in CL next year if we both play to our potential-FACT?
    I think so.

I think we have a lot we can take from and build on from this tie. Again clearly Strachan is still early in a team building job. A job made a bit longer no doubt by the fact that he almost had to start from scratch given O'Neill's whole team was so old.
I think yes clearly we have work to do but we did ourselves proud and our young team will have learned much from the 2 games against Milan. Lawell and Co have done an excellent job managing the club off the field and for me while I am not going to accept defeat as ok and I am gutted we lost I also see the bigger picture that on the field Strachan is building what could be a great Celtic team and is being ably assisted by the outstanding running of the club off the field. Tonight we will have earned a lot of respect across Europe. Not where we want to be yet but a step in the right direction for me.

    Harsh

Think that comment was a bit harsh. We were unlucky against Milan and on another night the penalty decisions might have went for us and that would have got us through.

i thought we played our hearts out,we were not out of sorts at all.
but we were a bit messy in the middle, gave a lot of ball away, poor free kicks.but that said we were again unlucky in the penalty areas, the sooner the technology comes in the better!

onwards and up wards, lets * over the Huns on Sunday.
    hail,hail from the heart..
