News reports over here are saying Lennon turned down a £1.2 million offer from Blackpool. Bolton, West Brom and Brighton have all enquired but following talks he has been assured his future lies at Celtic. In a pretty reliable paper.

I think problem with Paddy is we play too many negative teams with too small pitches Paddy needs a run in the team but with the tight pitches and 10 men behind the ball its too difficult for him to find the space for his mazy runs in some games against certain opposition and if he doesn't score a wonder goal its classed as a poor performance, a definite talent but bad luck seems to follow him its two step forward and three back can never seem to get a foothold plus his reputation is his own worst enemy as we expect the amazing from him every touch he gets, even seen myself thinking when he gets the ball on the halfway line beat him and him and him and him and him and him etc. hes been a joy to watch and hope he'll get maybe one last chance to actually nail a starting position and maybe live up to his legend status, but will maybe need to up his game and become more a part of the team, and I think if he does go the fee will probably be quite low with add ons for appearences.

Not too sure why there is so much conflict on this thread.

People calling each other Paddy haters and what not, my *.

Look, at the end of the day the guy is what, 28, 29? He's what, third or fourth favourite in his position.

Let's sit back and be honest here, does he really have a future at our club? We can argue all * day but at the end of it, the guy is not needed, aye he might skin a few guys 1 in 10 times and bang in a goal, but there are younger, better, more versatile players than him.

I doubt if he's on a high wage. I'd get rid of Cha before Paddy.

it's still a waste of a wage, no matter how small, if he isn't going to get a game. i think all those players don't have a future at Celtic.

He's said he wants to play here, Lennon doesn't want to sell him, that's why he's still here, I don't know why people are surprised by him not leaving.

Has Paddy shagged yer maw or something? You can't stop slating a player who has done very little wrong and cost(s) buttons.

The problem for me is he is not playing and there is genuine interest in him unlike Rasmussen et al so we should really be thinking about doing business, we have a ready made replacement in Ibrahim and Commons also needs games, I think Lenny needs to learn he can't please everybody we really do have too many players on the fringes.

You'd be surprised at the wage he's on. Talk in football down here is that he is a high earner. Blackpool's highest earner last year was on 10k pw. They couldn't afford him and if a loan they would need Celtic to fund part of his wages. Paddy is happy to sit on his * by all accounts.

how have i slated him? find anywhere i have slated him?

any wage is money out of Celtic FC's pocket. a player not being utilised by playing regular is a waste of money. will he ever be a regular? no.

you can't fathom a response of why he isn't getting game time under three different managers in 4 years and why he should stay so you resort to the childish action of personal insults.

i hope when McCourt does leave, you'll follow him.

let me just remind some of you's.....is there another player in our squad that can do this:

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48RqQqj9L5I"]Paddy McCourt - Five of the Best - YouTube[/ame]

    Naw, didnae think so

He may not play every week but we as a club should not be selling a player like this when we would only get a small fee. some of you kids on here don't appreciate good skills

He is so underrated IMO. Great player when at his best.
