Celtic defender Jos Hooiveld is looking to move before the transfer deadline in order to play first team football.

The Dutch defender does not currently figure in manager Neil Lennon’s plans and is free to move clubs if a suitable offer is received by Celtic.

Hooiveld’s agent, Alex Kroes, told STV that he was hopeful of securing a move for his client but that no offer had been received yet that suited all parties concerned.

“At the moment there is nothing concrete and there no realistic offers for him,” Kroes said. “But we are hoping to find one.”

The agent revealed that there has been some interest in Hooiveld but that at present, there was no concrete offer that would suit player and club.

Kroes also stressed that Hooiveld would not be difficult to deal with and was keen on a move but said that if no transfer was arranged then he would continue to work hard at Celtic.

“Jos is a bright, positive character,” he said. “We will remain positive if nothing happens before the deadline.”

Hooiveld joined Celtic from AIK in January 2010 but injury disrupted his early time at the club. He failed to convince Neil Lennon of his merits and spent the latter half of the 2010-11 season on loan at FC Copenhagen.

No, Swedish fan on here was saying AIK have 3 good CB's so they probably wouldn't want him as part of the Bangura deal even though he did great there.

sounds like an agent hoping to drum up interest...the best we can hope for is someone to take him on loan

It's a sad reflection of the TB signing era that there is virtually zero interest in Hooiveld & Rasmusssen.
I think we would be lucky to just 'release' these players, let alone recoup any fee for them. Both still have 2 years left on their contracts.
I'm sure Celtic don't want them around Lennoxtown, so they will be keen to unload them, even if just loans, to at least get them off the Payroll and away from the scene.
