So when you go to Tesco and give them your cash every week your a supporter......not a customer.

Anybody who gives a business (PLC) cash is a customer. They are entitled to the bang for their buck, or are entitled to complain.

The board want supporters on the terracing (hopefully saying nothing) and customers at the tills spending cash.

I hate to say it but he is right the way the club is run is total ruthless buisness. I bought the new away top, long sleeves from the Celtic shop £54, then you walk into soccer sport and it's £45 that's £9 cheaper from a third party store.

Obviously taking the * out of loyal fans trying to make the money go direct to the club, then when they sign no one we have just to accept it? :31:

You know what i meant, i was referring specifically to football clubs.

The supporters of a football club are customers as their money finances the PLC as a whole, however this is one tiny part of what they are, and my point was that it was stupid to use that as a way to excuse them from pretty much embarassing their team.

What was the support like through the TM era? Did we back the team and the board during that period? No, we vented our feelings because we knew that it wasnt working and a change was needed.

As with Sunday, there is clearly something wrong. And it has been coming. The Dundee Utd game flattered us, at 2.1 Utd were on top till we broke away. The Sion game was as poor as Sunday, and then to drop 3pts to a side with nowhere near the resources so early in the season is concerning to say the least.

As fans it is our role to support the team when we are winning and let the club know that we arent happy when things arent going well. A small blip or where luck is against us is different. But the last few games has highlighted that our squad is light and the board has not come through with the 2/3 quality players that Lawell suggested we were getting.

We have very loyal and supportive fans. The last 3 seasons have shown that. We are consistently amongst the top 20 best supported clubs in europe.

What other top club in Europe would have signed just one player in the summer? And a player that has hardly whetted the appetite for a new season.

I dont boo players, or the manager, however, I dont have a problem with fans letting the board and management know their displeasure at the moment. We cant win the league before the end of the transfer window, but failure to act could go a long way to losing it.

I hate how we always have this mindless chat about who are supporters and who are not after a terrible result. It's naff all to do with anything.

    Over and Over

Supporters pay their money, and good money at that to watch Over-paid professionals turn in rubbish performances. The support can boo whenever they like when something goes wrong. I dare say that when the support are doing their own jobs, and dont do it right, or well, then they get a rollocking from others. Its all part and parcel of your job. do it well and you get praise, do it wrong and it's on your own head. Why should we treat a footballer differently to ourselves???? Just because they wear the hoops, shouldnt make them exempt from our frustrations and anger.

As for leaving early, thats up to them, doesnt make them any less of a supporter than you and I.

    Indeed.

It doesn't make them a good supporter at all though regardless of how much money they spend, or "waste" as they may put it.

I paid £600 at the start of the season that I can't afford. Not for one second do I grudge it.

Celtic is my team, I * love them, I breathe them, I think about them every single * day. I don't see why I should complain about the fact that I get to watch them week in, week out.

Haven't been playing well? Poor form? Weak team full of pampered superstars that need to get their finger out?

It's been 2 games, as 3 games ago we won 5-1.

I'm happy we had these couple of bad results at this stage in the season. We can fix it. A mid season collapse is much worse. Hopefully these last two games will kick players in the appropriate places and they don't allow it to happen again. Is it also not surprising that injuries to four huge players for us (Izzy, Kayal, Wilson and Hooper) have seen us not play to our best. It's also possible we bring in more players before the deadline.

What does annoy me is our fans and the inevitable knee-* reactions. Been on any threads in the last few days that have not been negative? Let's not be so fickle. Let's live up to that name of Greatest fans in the World. Let's do it the Celtic way, not the Orc way.

I rekon our team is playing at 100% just now. We need to raise them to start pushing out that extra 10% that we are used to seeing. That extra that makes us fight for every ball. That little 10% extra that scores the goal in injury time. No more leaving early. No more booing like THEM!

Let's get these * in our team pumped up for Thursday. Sound the Battle Horn. Bring the * thunder.

    Hail Hail.

P.S. How negative will this thread turn out?

We're certainly far from the best supporters in the world, well our home support is anyway.

    Let the people sing,

    Agreed.

And far too many are fickle but thats just football fans for you, it's natural in a big crowd of people some are likely to expect more than others as everyone have different opinions. But people seriously wanting Lennon out after a draw and a defeat - absolute clueless!

I would say the away support is one of the best in the UK. Easily.

Home support, apart from the Green Brigade is * dire apart from Rangers games and European nights.

I just don't see how we go from amazing to absolute *, in peoples minds, in 2 weeks. Can't a bad patch be just that?
