You put your son in danger, I'll say it again, I would hide from these animals to be honest in that situation, Not taunt them when you are outnumbered with your * son with you in a Celtic top!

This isnt Belfast though, is it? And thats a big part of this problem. Do we want to end up with Glasgow being like NI?

Its the 21st Century ffs. In broad daylight, a civilian should be able to walk anywhere with his child in any part of our country without fear of assault. To suggest we should cede our basic rights in order to appease a set of people who may become aggressive beggars belief.

If this was at night, in a pub or club, or certain parts of town then yes, I would say there was a naivety about it. Not in these circumstances. Disappointed to see people sticking up for the OW to be honest. And surprised. The OW is an institution that has no place in our country yet we are expected to shy away from it for fear of reprisals? Nah.

Personally I dont go anywhere near them, but if I did, I certainly wouldnt change my path or attitude to keep them sweet.

I know what you are trying to say but with your kid, c'mon!!!!! im not sticking up for them quite the contrary its a disgrace that you cant walk the streets for fear of recriminations but this is a realists world not an ideal world you can walk into hoods or ghettos and get done in just for wearing the wrong colour its not just a scottish or irish problem catholic or protestant it happens in alll walks of life. And as for were not Belfast when the OW is out it might well as be for the time it takes them to pass Oran is from the north so why put yourself in that situation when he knows only too well

Im from Glasgow but ive lived in the Republic of Ireland for the last 5 years but that makes no odds..truth is that yes in hindsight i shouldve walked away & if given the oppurtunity now again with my son i probaly would..but its a sad indictment of our society in this day & age that id have to turn and walk back half way through a stroll to town with my son showing him the sights of my home city...he loves it here (as do i). but what a blight they are on our culture.

Its funny though cos these scumbags have annual walks in Donegal & get no hassle at all..they are seen as nothing more than a freak show,, next time i see one over there ill walk in front of that..see if they try pushing me about without a police force that backs up there sectarian racist marches!

Why would I be joking? The majority of orange walk marchers are thuggish bigots. So I think it would be really stupid to walk THROUGH the march with a Celtic top on. They are scum these people. So why give them a chance to target you? I know you should be able to walk around in a Celtic top anywhere you want, in a perfect world you would be. But I can say for sure, this is not a perfect world.

You shouldve stood next to the police and started belting out Broad Black Brimmer and Boys Of The Old Brigade. No doubt they would be fast enough to lift you for 'sectarian' or 'offensive' singing while the bile are spewing out there usual "* the pope"s and "up to our knees in * blood"s!

Next time theres one on im going to stand next to the police with a celtic strip on, my pope scarf, and an ireland flag with my back to the lodge. If they have a problem theyll hit me and there march will be forced to disband, if the police lift me ill say my human rights and freedom have been breached because they seem it wrong for me to stand with items of my religion and heritage showing no severe hatred whatsoever yet they allow them to receive medals for bursting there drum walking past the chapel in my town!
