Thinks it's time to ditch these formations and stick to what we do best and play 442.wgs played it at home regardless of the opposition and that includes the likes of man u and Milan.fair enough play it away when we are leading

 

totaly agree mate , lennon got it wrong tonight.

 

I agree, our lopsided 4-4-2 with one proper winger in Commons (or Forrest or whoever) works best. Stokes also has to play as a proper striker.

 

Not just tonight,every time he has played it.and that's the worrying thing for me is that Lenny works all week drumming it into the players yet they don't do it.it would be interesting to ask Lennon who got it wrong him or the players

 

451 has no * place in football as far as im concerned , i dont care who you play or where you play its utter * just trying to hang on for a * draw

 

When was our last win playing 4-5-1?

 

Thier was no need to play that * up formation aginst a weaker team we wasted commons on the right and stokes on the left then we moved sammy to the left who was having a above average game (looked better than stokes in all hounesty but no one will want to say that cause people hate sammy) and when sammy moved out left he was *. Maloney looked our best sub and better than Stokes and Sammy. Tacticly i think Lenny over thought it.

Saying all that Lenny did not get it spot on tonight but he knows more about us and the opostion than us. If Maloney's free kick went in all would of been forgiven. It will be a tough ask next week but I think the bhoys can do it. Will they idk

 

Feel it could be a big ask next week cos we seen in glimpses that this team could play if they came out.flip side being they will leave more gaps than tonight

 

WGS played 4-4-1-1 and 4-1-4-1 in european and hun games aswell

 

stokes cant play upfront himself , he likes to drop off n link up with players , lennon made him look bad tonight and against the huns last season by playing him out wide aswell, then we get the same old he never turns up in big games play him in his position then , its not rocket science !!!

Kayal Ki Ledley
Commons
Hooper New Target man

This is our strongest possible formation for me. Cha and Izzy providing width. The Supreme 3 bossing the game. Commons with a free role. And hooper with a proper target man to play off from. Stokes and Mccourt as impact subs and i think we have an excellent team.

 

Too much chopping and changing during the game.

 

Couldn't have often mate other wise McDonald wouldnt have scored the winner at the bigot dome or against Milan aswell as other big game goals like his 1 against the Huns in the 3inarow season cos I doubt he would be up top on his own

433, on the other hand is the one I don't mind really.
Should be used more, all the dutch teams are playing that, and they're pretty good at it.

 

I second this. We are great to watch when we play 442 at home, and even though we didn't have hooper to partner stokesy we still would have been much more comfortable and effective playing in our usual shape. Please * just let Lenny know this now.

 

Why does Lenny take a conservative approach whrn playing teams in Europe!!

He said that last year was a learning curve for the players and Im dissapointed he hasnt done the same himself. Our greatest strength is our attacking prowess and he plays 4.5.1 against a bunch of nobodies (he even done it at Tynecastle last year and we we beaten) infact almost everytime we play that formation we struggle!!

Its the same away from home also, I would love to see him put out Hoops and Stokesy up front together in a 4 4 2 in the away leg.. This wont happen though it will likely be Sammy up front on his own and we either get lucky or crumble !!

Think Lenny showed a touch of naivety last night with a sprinkle of * bag

 

Lenny got his tactics completely wrong last night!! We were at home and he plays 4-5-1 with Stokes out left wat was he thinking?? Why not play 4-4-2 with Stokes and Sammy together up top together!? They were for the taking last night but now i feel we r goin 2 really struggle out there next thurs!!

 

because Lennon tried to be too clever and ultimately, gave a very poor team far too much respect.

 

442 against the good teams in the competition and we'll get slaughtered. how many teams played 442 at last year's World Cup. And those who did how far did they get????

4-2-3-1 is a must against talented opposition. that being said sion are not talented they are pish, we should have put 3 or 4 by them last night
