he has his pals thats for sure,

sammy does not even get a game when the big Dundee utd come to town yet we can field sammy the donkey in a must win game players out of postions stupid subs and not for the first time

we have spent next to nowt this window,do we have any money ffs? the areas where players are needed are over looked, we buy one for the future who is brought
in for defence duties in Wanyama, yet he played his first game in midfield
where we have about 30 players that play in that position

just pure * now the huns have the edge of going through while our away form in europe is poor

i dont get this at all.

We all know Lenny is One of us, Passionate, Brave, A Good Motivator and has an eye for a player, but..............................Is he tactically intelligent ????
I hope he develops that side, but if not that could be bad news for all of us:ynwacelti:ynwacelti

Lenny seems to be totally out of his depth in europe, some of his formations ,tactics, substitutions etc are total lunacy.

I have said at the start of the season that we shouldnt be judging him in Europe, simply because the title is much more important. We werent quite good enough to win it last season so he has to get that right.

Europe is a side issue, though he is being either stubborn, or has this mad crazy idea that Sammy is the answer when clearly the tactics last night upset the whole rhythm of how we have been playing in recent games.

Stokes, Ki and Commons were all affected by the team having to accomodate a lone striker role.

Neil has a management team also and surely they cant all be thinking the same way? Last night would have been a comfortable win if we had played a 442 with Maloney and Stokes up front, as it ended on saturday. I thought the wee man did well when he came on against Utd.

As it is we have a tough game ahead of us now. Hpefully this hasnt also given us a European hangover for the Saint Johnstone game on sunday.

I would accept that Europe is a side issue to a certain extent but i still feel we should be making the group stages of the Europa League, hopefully we will :50:

I like Neil but i do think he lacks the intelligence to do the job on occasion, kind of reminds me of Mick Mc Carthy when he was Ireland manager, very passionate and loyal but not tactically very astute and slow to spot when changes need to be made and indeed, what the correct changes are.

Im expecting GREAT THINGS from Lenny:50:

I dont think Alex Ferguson won anything in his first year at Man Utd

Lenny won the Scottish Cup and * near won the Treble

He'll go one better and win the Leaugue this year imo

After that theres no limit to the success that could come our way

Ferguson had a fairly successful career prior to Man Utd.

I expect great things from Lennon too, but he is on a steep learning curve. Fergie ironed out his mistakes at smaller clubs, Lenny is right in at the sharp end and will need to get up to speed quick.

    Still

No one can deny Lennys had a decent start to his career as a manager

How many managers win anything in their first year

imo Lennys done good so far considering he was up against the waistcoat last year

Just on the point about Fergie, no manager in football today would be afforded the time that he was at Man utd before he became successful, indeed they were on the brink of sacking him had he not won their cup game.

It's make or break for Lenny this season, the honeymoon is well and truly over he needs to deliver the title ...........

we were poor yes but lacking first team regs , tbh we should done that mob but were deffo needing striker options , stokesy has been great ,hooper been not so good the last 6 games or so imo , sammy well wots to say he will give you his all but hes frustrating no point in mentioning the rest as lenny has no confidence in them

That's not only in Europe. No vision at all. Just running and hard working is not going to make Celtic the club they used to be a few years a go.

The jury is well and truly still our and Lenny is getting a the sort of support from fans which all should get but is rarely given. IMO we are a weak side and that is being hidden because we can showboat around very poor SPL sides. European performance shows the truth. We are barely able to compete at Europa level and the days of having a team and manager with the savvy to compete in the CL are sadly looking distant.

Wow glad to see so many guys in here are more tactically astute than our manager who has spent 20+ years in the game in central midfield (the most tactical of positions) and as a coach and manager. We have a wealth of knowledge in the stands.

Basic rule: when you choose a formation, play the players suited to it. And in their right positions. Lenny fails at this, sometimes.:38:

He hasnt got to grips with Europe yet, thats for sure. Tactically , Thursday was all wrong. A 451 would perhaps suit away from home, but not against weak opposition at CP.

The SPL is more important anyway, but we should be making the group stages of the EC.
