    If this is to be Neil Lennon's last season in the Hoops then we have lost a legend. The commitment he has given us is second to none. What he has had to endure in his time here would have ruined plenty of other players, in fact plenty would not have stuck around. They talk of sectarianism on radio shows and newspapers, but certain members of the press, and radio panellists, should take a good look at themselves because they themselves have shown a sectarian bias against Lennon. When an incident occurs in a game, even if Celtic are not involved, Neil Lennon's name always comes into the debate on the radio or in the papers. A book could be written about the comments directed at Lennon by Derek Johnstone, who has a strong dislike of him. His comments stink to the core of sectarianism. You have to ask yourself why people like Johnstone do not give players like Nakamura, McManus etc the treatment Lennon gets. It is time people opened their eyes instead of comments defending this man. Neil Lennon deserves your defence.

    Lennon has had to deal with more than any other player I care to remember. Great point.

    Without being called anti-Lennon, I would say that 30 grand a week probably outweighs the negative treatment he recieves. He admits as much himself. Sometimes we get a bit too sentimental over Lennon IMO.

    I have always thought the position lennon plays (DM) they are most times over-rated and dont seem to do much. Lennon has never been my favourite player and I wont miss him when he leaves, nor will the wage stucture :84:

    He's not a legend, unless he becomes a good manager later on and takes over nd guides us to CL win, he wont be a legend.

    Larsson, Johnstone, Dalglish. Those are legends

    This from a guy with a wee money grabbing wankstain and Kenny Misser in his sig.

    None of the 3 you've mentioned guided us to a CL win, in fact Dalglish was part of the most ridiculous managerial team ever appointed....the one that got us humiliated at home by Inverness while he worked on his swing in Spain.

    LENNON = LEGEND

    I actually agree with you mate, there are definitely better things to talk about today, but if people want to talk about Lenny it's up to them.

    If nobody replies the thread will just drift down the forum.

    Aye, if you reply to a thread, whether its to complain that there's already a thread on this subject made weeks ago or not, you put it back to the top of page 1.

    But remember there are new members coming here everyday, they might want to talk about it, dont down them because you've talked about it before.

    Eh? Larrson and Johnstone didn't become a good manager, but you consider them legends? Larrson didn't guide us to win the CL. Lennon wears his heart on his sleeve, and you can see his pride. He's one of the few players in the game that play for the shirt.

    Clearly some people don't understand the role Neil Lennon plays for Celtic. Ancelotti said after Celtic played Milan a few years back that Lennon would not be out his team. As for saying he gets 30 grand a week so should cope with the grief he gets, the people who think this are as bad as the people who dish it out to Lennon. He is a legend in the eyes of many supporters. I wish we had more players with his desire.

    Agree completely Paul, the stick Lennon gets is a disgrace, i can guarantee you none of these hillbillies would say some of the things they've said about this incredible human being to his face.

    Yeah people are entitled to their opinion if they think he's not good enough as a player, tho i strongly disagree, but to say he should have to put up with constant sectarian abuse because he earns good money (what about the hundrends of other players on similar wages?) is unforgivable from any Celtic fan. Some people have got no shame :shamrock:

    Sno was by far the better player.

    Dont get me wrong I love Lennon but he looked slow and couldn't keep up with the likes of kaka.

    sno played utter pish, he is not ready yet, im still trying to work out why gs didnt play him in the spl but yet starts him in the CL even though Gravesen is on the bench. This was one of the biggest matches in the clubs history and gs decides to throw on inexperienced teenagers, puzzling!
