I have to phone a lot of people in aberdeen at work..

The accents crack me up tbh but WHY do they answer their phone by saying their phone number

 

Do they

 

do they have time machines and this is the 30's?

 

Right no offense to people from Aberdeen here. But they are the strangest people I have ever come across. Well most that I have met when I worked there for a few months. Absolute weirdos!

 

the phone number thing isnt just from aberdeen couple of my mates do that. they say the last 4 digits on their number. i do find it very strange though

 

The phone number thing is a something that was done years ago. When we were young we were told to say the number when we answered the phone. Maybe Aberdeen has'nt caught on yet.

my dad says our number when he answers the house phone always has. my friends always found it confusing

 

i can remember my mum teaching me how to answer the phone when i was a bairn and she told me to pick up the receiver and say our own telephone number......didnt think anyone still did it though.

 

infact im sure phone numbers used to be 5 digits, because he always misses a digit out and i can kinda remember something about this when i was younger

lol id never heard of it or really clicked on that they were at it until today then it started to get on my nerves =/

 

I didn't think anyone still did that. It's quite annoying though because you're like: Yeah I know I just dialed it.

 

I've never spoke to someone on the blower and they start with the digits. How are we strange? .
