It doesn't matter if they played better.

Oh and bye the way. Instead of willing Sion into the groups. The club and the fans should be making a big deal of this and take the fight to Uefa instead of standing back and being politically out-manouevred by Christian Constantin and possibly Uefa who might turn a blind eye to it to avoid a court case.

I don't think we deserve to get a place in the next round but i wish people would stop saying they beat us fair and square, they beat us with ineligible players-how is this fair?

Get Paul McBride involved. He will sort this out.

I'm sure FIFA and UEFA have a history of booting teams out of competitions when they field ineligible players. I don't see how Sion can get away with it to be honest.

When this has happened in the past and teams have been thrown out is it usually as quiet as this?
I would have thought a big rule break resulting in being thrown out of a competition would be kind of big news but no media source really seems to be saying anything about it.

The team generally don't get thrown out of the Europe. What happens is that each leg you play an illegible player the other team gets award a 3-0. This happened in 2005 When NK Zepce played a suspended player against FK Baskimi. This was in the first qualifying round.

Infact it happens pretty much every year on more than one occasion.

A club from Kazahstan and FC Baku have both been on the opposite ruling of 3-0 victorys for fielding illegible players. I'm telling you guys watch this space. It's been done on several occasions.

If we go thru it is by no means on our merit obviously but the huns have been winning things for years not on there merit and there Jolly old ugly inbreed * of fans can brush it off.

Will be embarrassing to watch this mob in Europe but at least it would be a hard experience

Exactly. Why they have to wait till the two games is beyond me. MAYBE they were waiting to see if we could have done them a "favour" by knocking them out as it would have saved them a job of going down this route BUT they booted out Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor's match never even had to go ahead because they took Fenerbahce's place in the Champions League, so why they couldn't have just done the same with Sion is baffling.

    Spot on!

How can we have been beaten fair and square by a team that cheated?! Bit of a contradiction aint it? :97:

What's the point in having rules then?

Fenerbahce get kicked out for ALLEGED match fixing but Sion stay in for KNOWINGLY and BLATANTLY fielding ineligible players? :97:

Stinks of contradiction and Celtic should pursue it if nothing does happen.

Ineligible players or not, that performance last night tells me we shouldn't even be in the competition. We're an absolute joke on the Euro stage now. Can't even beat a Swiss team that finished 7th in their respective league. Let's not embarass ourselves anymore by trying to sneak back in through non-footballing terms.

It'll be interesting to see what happens. Ive been reading up on it, and i dont see why they SHOULD'NT get chucked out. They had a transfer embargo and still signed players , and played them....so they broke the rules....and basically spat in FIFA's face. Maybe thats why Lennons so * calm, coz he knows were still going through haha

+1, any club with a half decent legal team should be able to argue they and not the team which cheated by fielding illegable players should go through.

ok they beat us 3 1 on the night, but we played with 10 men for the match, hardly a fair situation.

if uefa/fifa dont make example of sion then we'll see teams in the future flaunting these player elagability rules if they know they'll only face a fine.

If UEFA were going to do it they'd have been thrown out already, the draw is today afterall.

I think they were waiting to see if we knocked them out first anywayz, so they wouldnt have had to step up and make the decision- but now they do..................
