Posted in the match thread, I think Maj was a stop gap last season. he did a job, but i think he could cost us this season. Think Rogne and Wilson could be the future

 

I agree as much as i actually like big maj he is not getting younger i would like to see Rogne and Wilson combined

 

big dans starting positions cause him all sorts of problems sometimes. hes also as slow as a week in the jail!

i will say ive been well impressed with big kelvin though. he looks a real find. makes defending look easy!

So far i recken we'll never win the league again cause we've zaluska bomb scare * get him tae * in goals, Maj turns like a battle ship 50p heid, willo average right back utility man, * shud never be captain heidless chicken broon and theres others who get slated cause of hair styles or whatever the *!

Think we need to have a bit of a reality check here, played 2, won 2, conceded 0!!! Maj was instrumental in Mulgrew settling at CB and and also played alongside Loovens, Rogne and hooiveld. He's a swedish international, part of a british record breaking defense last season and now, now he has another new centre back partner and possibly Rb in Matthews.

We won't get another season from him after and we won't be signing another CB this window so lets not sharpen our knives after 2 competitive games yet, lets hope he continues to steady the ship and the young ones(matthews,kelvin,Rogne,Mulgrew) to learn and mature from Dan's Experience.

In football especialy these days you need a CB that can pass, he ither fluffs it, or puts the player receaving the pass under all sorts of pressure,ive noteced this from day 1.
liability....get rid, put charlie in there with kalvin, they were both good today.

 

Maj is one of those players who you immediately miss when he's not there.

I remember countless arguments in pubs about the ability of Bobo and him being not good enough until he left. Same with John Hartson and many other good players.

Bobo helped us to a UEFA cup final and league wins. Maj may just do the same.

Focus on those who are genuinely not good enough

I think people dislike maj cause he looks more clueless and uncomposed than he is facts speak for themselfs though.

 

I have never thought he was the answer for us. He is far too rash. His positional sense is terrible for someone with the supposed experience he brings. He cant win headers either. For the size of him he always gets beaten at headers. I always like the CH to be a threat at corners but he is worse than a man down at times as when he does get anywhere near the ball his headers are gash.

I only seen the highlights on sky, but thet defineteley were not his highlights! He was terrible! I have seen people say that he was a big part of Mulgrew doing so well last season. Rubbish!!! Mulgrew played 35 games last season for Celtic and Maj 40. Maj had the 1st half of the season and then went injured for a while when Mulgrew came into the team. The reason that we done so well last season was down to Mulgrew. If he wasnt there the defence would have fell apart.

I really hope that Maj is out of the team before we play in Europe. He will get exposed badly. All the things we all say will happen to Weir, and it never does, will happen to Maj as we play attacking football too much. This is not a knee * reaction, its a consistent view from last season!

Well why is it that I can remember wads of Celtic fans tearing into Bobo and labelling him mince and a big donkey etc.. until he left/was dropped. Then were all crying for him to come back.

Similar to right now with Maj.

Remember, Lennon grew up with Celtic having Balde at the back. Maj isn't just my Balde, he's Lennon's as Lennon bought him to do the same job.

 

Balde was twice the defender Maj is. I think people forget how good Balde was for us under MON because of how it ended.

yup. bobo was not only a tank but he was alot faster than maj.

 

I think he's brutal,I'd prefer k Wilson and mulgrew

He played well today i thought, still gets caught under the ball too much for my liking, always on his heels.
