London is burning

All kicking off again tonight in the North of london this time .

Last night Comet and Pc world was raided with nowt left in either stores.

 

If they can't get a lid on this very sharpish it has the potential to spread to other inner cities. You'll get thousands of kids with nothing better to do ganging up in the street spoiling for a fight with the authorities.

Feels like 1981 all over again.

Racial tensions, inner city deprivation, high unemployment, no trust of government or Police.....sound familiar?

 

I would assume we will be seeing similar pictures in other major european cities within the next couple of years or even months.

 

The riots of 79 come to mind...Babylons burning...The Ruts.

 

Sustained and chaotic baton charges by police with dogs. Around 20 dog handlers.

seems the police are not up for taking any * tonight .

 

Tories back in power, and riots breaking out all over the shop! Deja vu?

So looting and rioting are now the new peaceful protest .......Hang on a minute dont get why the are protesting here ?? The police shot a guy with a gun who had ample warning to drop his weapon !!!!!! and people take to the streets in protest .....

While I think that the actions of the rioters are absolutely disgraceful and unacceptable, I am also quite disapointed by the lack of condemnation in the media of the police. Unfortunately this sort of incident with the police is all too common, they are supposed to protect citizens and all to often innocent people get hurt, or killed. The police service really does need a complete revamp, because at the moment they seem far too happy to attack whoever happens to be nearby.
