I was right by the guys that set them off. First a red flare, followed by a bunch of stewards and polis piling in, which resulted in a little scuffle but nothing serious. The flare was on for quite long though, and looked class. The fumes are pretty rank, in fact all the clothes I was wearing stink of that *, but at the time it improves the atmosphere tenfold. Not to mention the real reason for pyro... The fact it looks class.

The second was a few minutes later, a green smoke, which was also choking but amazing fun. It's alright if you put your scarf over your mouth.

Pretty sure the guys that set off the pyro were chucked out at half time. It was a great atmosphere though.

AmmanValleyJack, looking at your photo I'm sure I saw you, remember recognising you from the photo you posted on here. Nice one mate.

They look cool, but we shouldn't be setting them off period.
I wouldn't be happy if i had the wee man there and him coughing up his lungs just for a silly bit of colored light and smoke.

Time and a place and it's certainly not a packed football stand where it can cause a multitude of problems.

No need for trolling, or replying to a troll, report posts don't reply to them.

People who set them off have no consideration for others, as already mentioned they are a serious problem for anyone that has a lung condition, I also saw a wee bhoy, no more than 5 or 6 take a bad coughing fit after one was set of near him, they are banned from stadiums for good reason and anyone caught with them deserves to be chucked out.

If only your health was considered than I would not care, but this is a very selfish statement.

    Flares are simply unnecessary.

my brother was at the game, he said the stewards were going mental and loads of people were getting chucked out because of the flair.

He also met big bad john in a pub and they had a pint and got a photo together:50:

    Aye, ok Gok Wan :yeltongue

They look great, but I wouldn't be able to handle them. I'd be coughing all night.
As has been said - they're banned for a reason.

When i phoned the ticket office, I asked to for a ticket in the West Stand as close to the celtic fans as possible (i normally sit the other side but as that is where our singers are i was concerend there might be a bit of a right-wing, union jack outing which in the event didnt happen thank * and it appears the main bulk of the home support stayed away in favour of a family's day out), i wasnt expecting them to give me a ticket in no man's land basically on my own between the swans and celts. good tho.

very hard not to join in celtic songs (or swans for that matter considering it was the most dead atmosphere ive ever seen from Swansea and to think i was bad mouthin cardiff a few weeks ago) but i did make a point to clap to the "clap you hands if u hate rangers) and also did stand and clap you all at the end.

im kinda conspicious considering im mixed race (rare at football in Swansea really) and about 20stone so it would have almost certainly have been me. i was wearing a Swansea/Celtic scarf that i randomly found on ebay too, the first ever one ive seen which arrived yesterday morning before the game. normally tend to only see friendship scarfs for big clubs like liverpool/celtic manu/barca etc so was well happy with the find

here's the scarf and also two norn iron childhood celtic fans embracing like long lost friends...Super Neil and Magic Brendan. I also saw Lenny messing around and laughing and joking with our sports physio guy Ryland Morgans who is only 29...i was so confused by that and couldnt understand why the * they were messing around til Football Manager told me local lad Ry apparently had a spell at Forest. i was proud of myself with my detective skills.

If anyone finds any pics of the match, please link me.

I come from a culture where flares are being used regularly. Of course they are forbidden here too, as pretty much everything is, welcome to western europe.

No doubt they can be extremely dangerous when fools decide to throw them while they are burning, but so are glass bottles, lighters, even coins.

When controlled they are absolutely fabulous and improve an atmosphere massively.

    Pro flares.

I like flares. They bring colour to the stand.I don't like smoke bombs too much but my team Villa have a good smoke bomb.

I'd prefer a green flare for you for obvious reasons but as long as your not doing a december ding dong derby like the below, there fine but Villa,Blues derbys are always gunna kick off.

If your not doing the above with flares, there fine as they bring a nice colourful touch to the stand.

I love the sight of flares in a stadium, but the fines for the clubs are too * high. So it's a no for me.

I admit they can be dangerous but they look so good. I duno maybe the fans and police could plan before the game where abouts they will let the flares of. If they are kept under control then fine but you can't let any idiot have one. It can really add to the atmosphere so I am pro flares :)
