Agreed. I personally don't rate either player that highly. I think they posess similar qualities, the main one being "am gonna get right in your face"

but when an oppotuinity comes along to improve your team mate then you have to atleast consider it.

we all have a go at the boared for the "we have enough to win the league" mentality and yet its just as rife between the fans. i think if we need to be less besotted by our players and when theres a chance to improve then go for it. and even if that mean dropping or sellign a good performer last year.

IMO barton would be the best midfielder in our team.

and we have had players play for us who purposly ended someones carear, booted a team mate in the head, spoke out about the club, refused to come out after half time and the list goes on.

if we could afford him, which i doubt, then go for it.

people are going on about there being no place in the team for him, what happens when a better player comes to your club? they slot into their best position and the player not as good loses his place.

IF we got Barton, Brown has to go, there is no other option.

If it was Brown getting dropped for Barton, then I'd have no problem with it. The main reason I feel he has no place in our team is because Brown is the captain and Lennon obviously sees him as one of the more responsible players in the squad. I just don't see Brown being sold to accommodate Barton, who, as I've said countless times, may turn out to be a complete liability in Glasgow. We all know what his temper is like and we all know what the pressure is like in a Glasgow derby.

I just don't think Joey Barton and Old Firm derby will ever work. We'd be as well starting with 10 players on the pitch, as it wouldn't be too long before he kicked out at someone or headbutted someone and got himself an early bath.

100% correct. Barton would without a doubt improve the quality of our midfield and no doubt take it to another level.

Some of our supporters seem are a bit too loyal to some of our players. I love Ledley as a player but i wouldn't hesitate dropping Barton in alongside Kayal in the middle.

The thought of our captain being left out of the team for a * like Barton is sickening.

Yeah but our midfield is already near perfect, they all complement each other. While I agree Barton is a better player than Brown, will he make that much more of an impact?

Also going by your logic and we were to sign Barton and play him in Browns position, what if another right midfielder who is better than Barton became available and was willing to sign for us. Do we then sign him and put Barton on the bench?

Perfect? You don't get perfect in football, there is always room for improvement. I love Browns attitude and desire to win but if Barton came in Brown would have to go, end of story.

And to answer your second question obviously Barton would be benched if a better player came in that's exactly what I'm saying.

You can't be very ambitious if you don't think our midfield can be improved which is what you're basically saying.

Because we're joint favourites with Spurs on skybet to get him. But i agree, i don't see him coming here if Spurs/Arsenal are after him.

Aye, because Scott Brown is such a saint and deserves the captains armband himself.

Barton may be a little * but he's a better footballer than Brown.
