He wasn't playing as a striker in the Miller or Magic role. He played where he always does, on the left and drifting in now and again.

Certainly the way Riordan has played lately he deserves to start. But I still look on him as a striker. All things being equal and everybody fully fit I would pick McGeady to start at left mid and Riordan to partner VOH up front.

Just in case it all sounds a bit harsh on Aidan, I still think he is a special player and as GD says if he can improve his final ball (including his shooting IMO) and strengthen up he will be tremendous. Shaun (spit!) did that and became a great player last year. As I said above, our players would be good in a 4-3-3. How about:

    Hartley...Lenny.....Naka

    MvGeady....Jvoh ...Deeks

    OR

    ..........Hartley....Lenny

    ..................Naka

    .....McGeady....JVOH.......Deeks

had a really good game yesterday. took his goals well and did well on the left and cut in a few times to create a few opportunities. one of his shots was just wide after taking the ball past a few players from the left wing

Riordan gets the place now, McGeady is too young and just doesnt play good enough.

And look at Riordans record with us, 5 goas in 7 appearances (6 starts)

Wasn't McGeady YPOTM twice this season?to say he's not good enough is kinda silly.
How about we do the norm and play Riordan up front. He obviously knows where the goal is,and imo he is not skilful enough to beat his man consistently on the left or to create goals either as his crossing is not all it can be.He also needs a strict weights programme(and a good haircut).I'm not having a pop at him at he has been playing well but to say he's ready for MIlan on the back of Livi, well it's a bit premature.
And Keltoi too good for reserve football??thinking too far ahead of his team mates ??come on did ye see him in the reserves he didn't try a leg and it was nothing to do with being too clever for the rest of the lads.

Anyone noticed how much Riordan looks like Jinky with that gurny grin, which wouldn't look out of place in an Oliver Twist play!

    Hail, Hail :celt_2:

second one looks the bizz keltoi ...be a lot more movement and with naylor and wilson bombing forward like wing backs....would be worth a go...only WGS tends 2 stick 2 4-4-2..although MON WAZ always a 3-5-2 man and he changed toward the end:43:....sssoooo MAYBE.

looks an exciting formation all right:50:

sorry but mcgeady does not have the finishing to play on the side of a 4-3-3
